Im lookin for a job right now and i was wondering where everyones first job was and what they thought of it and which ones make bank, which ones suck dick etc.

most first jobs will suck. i worked at winners for my first job...made $7.45/h...total shitty pay but whatever i was 16. year later i got a job lifeguarding/teaching swimming lessons and i get $14.50/h for that.

one thing you should NOT do is get 2 part time jobs at the same time. its so stressful. get a fulltime for the summer

you teach swimming lessons? that's impressive. how old are you? my friend is looking into that, it's going to cost her like $450...crazy. but seems like a fantastic summer job.

dude startin off with that 7 bucks wasnt bad. i worked at a local grocery store bagger/cashier and made 5.25 then got it moved up to 6.00

it wasnt too bad cause they had flexible hours just the pay was no good

Yeah i was pimpin at the age of twelve and husslin at 15....lol naw i worked at Albertsons when i was 15 makin nill to nothin it blew especially when all of the other kids where outside playin but i also lived on my own in my own apartment when i was 15 so it was a little different for me!

First jobs usually aren't the greatest, but you can quickly move up from there. Here's a run-down of all the jobs I've had since I was 14:

Furniture delivery: $7.50/hr

Metal building contruction: $10.00/hr

House construction: $11.00/hr

Lifty: $14.00/hr

Superfund yard crew: $28.76/hr

Just pick a job that you'll enjoy if possible, and I wouldn't recommend doing full-time right away.

my first job was working as a camp counselor for a cub scout camp, pretty fun but horrible pay, since then i've worked as a busser ($6.50/hr), worked at WV ($8.45/hr), property maitenence ($8.25/hr) and worked at an ice cream stand for about ($7.00/hr)

did you get cancer yet? haha.. how was it?

My jobs include- soccer rec ref, only in the fall- $40-50 a GAME, made so much bank, but really limited hours

local track camp councilor- $200 a week, ~3 hours a day m-f

physical therapy aid- $8 an hour, shitty shitty shitty though

and today i start working at campmor, and outdoor sporting good place- $8 an hour. I'll be selling everybody sleeping bags haha

first job i worked at little caesars. started at $6 and after a year and a half i end at a manger at $8.26. Now i have been at best buy for 6 months and im making $9.27

do focus groups that pay you 100$ for two hours of giving your opinions on stuff. and my part time job is as an office bitch for 12$/hr on wall street

The whole hazardous waste thing is kind of a joke. I've been there a month and all we really do is landscaping with your tax dollars.

first job was at a golf course when i was 16. not a bad job but shitty pay. ive also worked at the YMCA teaching tennis

I painted the lines for soccer fields. I dont remember exactly, but it was like $30 a field and I used to do all 7 of them in like an hour and a half, made a little over 200 per week for an hour and a half's work. my boss though it took longer to do, but I used to push the painter at a full sprint around the field. Needless to say, they were not the straightest lines.

firsy job i was a janitor and made 5.25

then subway- 6.25

make 12 at xerox now. Subway was by far the funnest and the free food. oh god yeah.

my first and current job is workig at a local HyVee (started when i was 14) and started at $5.30 and now make $6.20 since minimum wage went up!!!!!!

my first job was workin at a farmboy grocery store, total bullshit job.

I quit that job pretty fast because everyone who worked their was fucken miserable.

Dishwasher at local bar and restaurant for whatever min. wage was about ten yrs ago, something like 5.15/hr, but after cleaning kitchen and bathroom at a local pub I will never shy away from cleaning around the house thats for sure.

Got my first real job last 2 Fridays ago at a grocery store. I make $8.03/hour and it's pretty good money (WA state so min. is like $7.75). It's easy I bag groceries, stock beer, stock pop, clean sometimes, stock shit, face stuff and help people with groceries. It's easy but there is like no down time at all, which doesn't matter much cause it's easy. I used to ref soccer games and that made like $30/hour but I could never get that many hours.

i work at a corn maze in the fall, been doing that for like, 3 years, last summer I worked for this roofing company just picking up scrap basically, $10 and hour, under the table, started pretty early in the day so I'd be done a little after noonish, still made like $60 a day, it was legit, plus it was super laid back

Campmor, sounds pretty cool. Are you into hiking/camping or just found a job there?

my mom has been pressuring me to get a job this summer. annoying as hell, I don't want one. my sis makes me look so bad, she has a list of all this stuff she's gonna do all summer (academic/jobs etc...) and all mine says is, "go surfing"

ya 7 45 isnt bad at all. I got 6 my first year ( last year ) and this year I get 7. but i was 13 last year adn 14 this year.

first job for me was at 14 in a lumber yard, brutal shit, try stacking logs and boards for 8 hours straight, i got jacked but it was a bitch job, only $7.50

ski lessons for $15 an hour in the winter

last summer i was a pool boy for 8.50

moved up to 10.00 for being a pool boy

working at a grocrey store but havent really started working yet most people say it sucks but they give out scholarships!

dude get a job being outside, its the summer, you don't want to be stuck inside a stuffy grocery store bagging shit, landscape or something like that, you make mad scrilla, you get jacked, and you get a dank ass tan

when i was 14 i worked at a bakery, i came in at 12 and then the baker left, i basically managed/dishwashed/waited on customers/ and cleaned/closed up around 7 most nights. it was 10$ under the table plus tips, sick pay but hard work. i did get to work alone though, which is nice because when its slow you can eat or do whatever you want.

now i work as a receptionist for a health club (swimming pool, gym, raquetball/tennis courts). again, i get to work alone and basically do jack shit except answer the phone, check the pools chemicals, and close up at night. i only get paid 8$ and thats before taxes though.

I'm 16 and i'm getting my first job this summer.

working at a golf course for 8 and hour

only downside is that it starts at 6:30, but its sick cuz it ends at 2:30

my first job and still workin there is a golf club. get a shit load of tips. like a good day is 50+ tips and a bad day is 20 bucks. plus 7 bucks an hour but i usually work 8 hours a day and like 4-5 days a week since im off school prob like 6 days a week so its a decent job

my first job was as a ski instructor....wish it were full time, I make a kiiling in the winter....they pay me more than they pay the Director

im still in my 1st job. i work at a furniture store doing random stuuf(no cleaning at least, thank God)but i mostly wear a squirrel siut and wave at people and get hugs from the hot college girls that walk by. it pays pretty well, too. i love my job!

my first job was with a translation company. i got to work online, pretty much anytime as long as my work got completed before the billing cycles. That basic part of my job paid $10/hr. As I worked longer, I got more side jobs with them that were up to $25/hr (very seldom, however). Then I had to travel and part ways, but it padded up my resume so damn much and it was a good time.

Then i worked a couple of jobs i really disliked. If possible, don't do that, it blows.

construction/landscape and boat maintenance.

10 clams per hour

no tax.

find a construction house with mexicans out front, ask to speak to the foreman, and try to get hired or go to a marina

still looking for my first REAL job.

been working for my dad up until now

but that shit dosent have enough hours

i work like 4 hours a week haha.

my first job...and still is at a fast food place...i strongly recomend against it...but now im probably getting hired at this little miny golf place with go karts and shit and my friend works there and says its awesome so try something fun sounding like that

Digging Ditches - 9$/hour under table not to bad and i was always by myself

Bagger - 6.50$/hour worst job ever ever ever ever

Busser - 8-12$/hour kind of hard but good cash

Take Away Server - 12-16$/hour best job ever i do nothing and get paid a ton

first job...$15 an hour at a ski/board rental place. was run off my feet most of the time, which was good, kept me fit and amused, so i got a decent pay rate.

swimming instructing for school...$18.50 an hour...

im a lucky one.
