My point is that they're synonymous tho

Look I don't care if someone is born male and wants to be called a woman. Be who you want who am I to say otherwise. But trans woman = woman isn't synonymous in current structures designed specifically for women (the female definition). Sports, stem scholarships, things of that sort where fair competition is paramount it doesn't make sense that biological males that don't face the same challenges biological females face compete together. Even women's clothing is not designed for male body shapes. So what's the solution? Rename everything currently for women 'female'? Or acknowledge that for the most part when people say women they mean biological female.

No, you're totally right, they're not synonymous. I regretted saying that because I do think it is important to acknowledge the differences - for many of the reasons you just stated. It's more of a "all squares are rectangles, but not all rectangles are squares" situation

I just think it's frustrating how a group of people (trans folks) can be like "I consider myself to be a woman, I have always considered myself to be a woman" and yet other people who have limited exposure to these groups will be like "no no, that doesn't work for me and my definition. Please fit yourself into my box."

This for sure does lead to some tricky situations (especially regarding competitive sports like we talked about yesterday) but for pretty much everything else (including scholarships? I fail to see how gender would make an impact here) I think it's not that hard to just be like "...yep, you're telling me you're a woman, so I will acknowledge that you are one."

100%.

The scholarship thing applies to gender-specific scholarships, I mentioned Stem because there are scholarships made just for women to try to balance the male/female ratio in stem careers.

Saying "Winners never quit and quitters never win" is boIIocks.

Since I quit being a man I've won loads of women's sports trophies
