so yesterday was my first day skiing ever...all in all in ended up pretty good except for some shit

i got all my stuff ready to leave my friends were waiting on me and then i realized that i couldn't fit into my bindings (borrowing my friends skis) so i run into the rental shop and ask them if they could adjust them real quick they were just like yeah we can it will take about 10 minutes or so but it will cost you 20 bucks...i was just like fuck that but paid them anyways, so i after i could get into my skis i headed back out to ski, what do you know my friends left me (some friends) so im like well i have seen people ski before so i should be pro at it, so i headed up the big lift, had no fucking clue what i was doing and when i get to the top my friends are waiting there.

so they show me a few pointers and then they are just like ok your on your own and they took me down one of the hardest runs ill ever remember, and ironically on that run there was a beginner skiing class being taught so i just caught up with them and learned from the best...well he actually didn't teach me shit and i think he hated me but whatever fuck him.

but by the end of the day i got the hang of it im really sketchy at it there is no smoothness involved but im pretty sure im gonna switch to skiing it was fun

NICE DUDE!!! Welcome to the community... It's a long, hard road learning how to be a legit DECENT skier. haha Im still working on it. But keep at it and you'll get there. +Karma for ya

Gyeaaaaaaaaaah.

Welcome to the awesome times of skiing, just keep with it & have fun man.

Btw, you could've just used a screwdriver (they usually have them around resorts, sometimes chained to benches and such) to adjust the ski bindings to fit your boots (unless the bindings needed to be remounted) - just a heads up to save you $ in the future.

Sick dude!

This is my third month skiing?

But im half decent for a beginner

Rails came really naturally for me

And pipe did to but im horrible at jumps

But props dude

Just rember to not go to park and pipe all the time because that will fuck you up

You might be able to shread park but you'll never be able to shread pow

or nice fast fun groomers!

yeah man nice job. i remember the first time i went skiing, i was 6, i cried because i didn't know how to turn and faceplanted big time haha. but yeah dude don't do too much park. i did like 18 hours in 2 days and could not feel my knees for days.

You generally need to know HOW to adjust bindings instead of just sticking a screwdriver in there and turning it until it 'fits'

my advice spend the money on taking a lesson, it will help you out soo much. i try to take one at least once a year even if it just helps with the little things, its worth it.

yeah i thought i knew how to do it because i had watched my friend adjust them the night before but i couldn't find a screw driver, and god know if i would of bought one at the mountain it probably would have cost me my left nut

Sick props man but how come do you have 132 posts here and have never skied till like past half the sseaon, but yeah it's great man!

are you fucking kidding me!? 20 dollars to tech a ski?? that is absolutely ridiculous.. it takes two seconds and a screw driver.. unless you have demo bindings in which case its even easier. i get why you couldnt do it but wow dude you got rippped off. anyways congrats on the crossover.
