First Chair?

Tomorrow my local mountain opens, and there is a big "contest" to see who gets the first chair of the season. Our mountain opens at 9 a.m., and some people are in line at 3:30 in the morning. Does this happen at anyone else's resort?
 
no. We don't even have snow... i wore shorts today.. Its supposed to be in the 50's the rest of the week. FUCK OHIO
 
I got first chair of the season at my hill once (besides the skipo) just cause the hill was opening at 4pm so I just went after school and there was barely anyone there. waited 15 or so minutes in line for the hill to get cleared by patrol.
 
Couple years ago, Canyons gave free Oakley Splices to the first x amount of people in line opening day. People were getting up there 3-4am.
 
Home mountain offered a free 2011 season pass to the first lift riders (2 person lift) at the start of the 2010 season. Camped out/ was in line at 2:30 am, ppl started coming at 5am. We won only to find out that the economic hardship of my mountain gave us a 50$ guft card at the end of the season instead. Lets just say we were quite angry with the worker who had to tell us and left between 20-50 messages throughout the offseason about it
