FIRST CAR!

looks dece, except my friend has a VW jetta and they shit the bed like once a month, not just his, but Vw's and audi's have alot of problems
 
Never mind dude, I saw. Yeah I wouldnt get it if I were you. 98 jetta's are known to be extremely problamatic, so its at your own risk
 
yeah my friends dad has a vw jetta 1.8t hatchback shit its a nice car but thats an 03 or an 04 super nice 0-60 about 5 seconds and no matter how hard you drive it it gets 50-60 miles to teh gallon, but its a diesel
 
it a FWD car, most likely has a little four bangger, possibly the 1.8T in it. I really don tknow cars but, since its foriegn repiars usually do cost big $$$. The trans has been known to be a weak point on those cars. Take it to a trusted mechanic and have them check everything out.
 
any maintenance is gonna be expensive and take a while, plus you gotta take it to a certified vw place to work on it.
 
the guy already had it serviced... two new front tires were put on and i guess everything is in really really good shape.. and only 80,000 miles..
 
at 100 000 miles, get ready to get raped. jetta's fall apart at 100 000 miles, everything breaks all at once man, DON'T DO IT if you like your money!
 
you dont have to take it to a certifed VW mechanic, thats like saying that i have to take my Jeep to a chrysler certifoied mechanic/dealer. The dealer has fucked me over more times tyhan my mechanic! Actually our family mechanic has never fucked us over!!
 
for a fris6t car its pretty nice, but if your gonna spend that much on it why dont you get one thast know to have so many problems, but i would definatly drive it, but all im sayin is that i would definatly look around a lil more before i buy that, but if do get that i hope you enjoy it!

80,000 miles for 5-6 grand shit my brother got a 4wd s-10 truck 4.3l v6 for 4 grand with 60,000 miles keep looking. maybe get a subaru the way all my friends talk about them they make it sound like the car is a god
 
if u bike, ski, golf, and run track i suggest you get really into track cuz youre only gunna be able to carry running shoes

Those guys hating on the Jetta above are pretty much total doushebags.

If you upgrade a Jetta VR6 to mass specs... oh man. you have a horse. Its light, it has a beautiful transmission that just goes for miles. The only problem is in the clutch and the belts.. since its a FWD the clutch is going to wear a little easier.. and it doesnt have a serpentine belt. so replacing belts gets annoying. I had a 1986 Jetta. It ran incredibly strong for YEARS as in, I came home from the hospital in this when it was a month new. When I first drove it, it drove just as well as it did the day I came home in it as a baby. It had 267000 miles on it and was still going when I sold it. Loved that Jetta GLI. Almost wish I didnt sell it... but at the same time.. im very happy with my Jeep Grand Cherokee.
 
wow, thats the comment of the day to me! Most engines work essentialy the same if you look at the big picture. Ive worked on VWs and im not even a mechanic, i just know cars. Ill admit that yes it is totally different from my jeep, but so is a ford or a honda.
