First backflip

i just landed my first backflip this morning after attempts yesterday. they are so fun. buttt i pulled it in the backcountry and im kinda sketched out on throwing one in the park because quitefranly i took some pretty good crashes (catch the tips) but it was bottomless pow so it didnt hurt. is there anything i can do to lessen the risk of under/overrotating? i mean i know its pretty much a matter of me sacking up but are there any tips to help prevent this?

spot your landing, if your not going to get it around tuck your knees in, and if your going to overrotate open up

I'd say keep practicing till your comfortable. at least now you know what it feels like and have the rotation. I'd say huck it more if you keep catching your tips. It's better to go a little to far than not far enough. But then again, you might get a bigger jump in the park. either way, props on landing it

catching tips isnt that bad my friend tryed a bunch in the park yesterday and cuz the jump was really small he caught his tips a bunch of times (he can do them every try usealy) and didnt get hurt at all

p.s. the landings were ice

Find a jump that has alot of lip (throws you high up, not far) and they are pretty easy, dont just try and huck off a flat lip or you will die.

i did a backflip on my tramp and laid it out to much and landed on the springs, hit my head on the grass, ahd a minor concussion and got minor amnesia, and it was fourth of july so i barely remember the fireworks show

keep it safe for a bit by doing them mega aerial steeze wiht your hands forward coming into the jump, then pop with feet and shoulders at same time, then brings your knees up, then spot, then open up when you need to. I thorw backflips of windlips, haha there so fun

take a few shots and confidently huck it. You'll make it, backs are simple, the hardest part is the mental barrier.

In the words of nike: Just do it.

There's no other explaination, just lean back and go for it. If you've done it on a tramp you'll know how fast you have to rotate.
