First backflip help.

So I’m at that point in skiing where I want to learn backflips, however I don’t know how to do the first one. I can do them on trampolines and if I tried could probably do them on ground. Now usually people would practice them in powder or airbags but here on east coast USA we have nothing. No powder no water ramps no air bags no nothing other than park jumps. What do I do? Do I just send it or is there something else I can do?

Super slushy day or wait u til you get an east coast powder day and build yourself a really flippy jump

Probably half the people threw their first flips on normal jumps.

Pow and airbags are sweet but you dont need them to do a flip. Also some people try them on some super shitty jumps to do them in pow which makes it almosy sketchier. Sure if you land on your face it won't hurt as bad, but if you can already d a backflip youll probably land it or come very close on your first try.

There's like a billion threads on backflip tips so this time ill simply say just do it

Just go to some smaller mountain and ride one jump all day. Once you get to know that jump then it’s all about the balls.

I was in your exact situation. Didn’t want to try it first on an icy park jump, and I didn’t have access to an air bag or anything like that. I waited until a day where we had a few fresh inches of snow and I did it out of the end of the pipe. Super steep takeoff and pretty much sends you right into the rotation. Underrotated first try and it didn’t hurt whatsoever. Then I took em to normal jumps after.

Try listening to something that stokes you up right before to get some adrenaline pumpin and you’ll get it.
