First back flip help?

I want to throw a back flip before the end of the season. I can do it on a tramp pretty consistent, I know just to tuck and huck and hope for the best when on ski and also to be clear your mind and be confident. but how different is doing a back flip on a trampoline compared to doing on skis?

try it into powder first if you can. do it on a jump with kick.

Then before you go for it, stand at the top and do a couple practice throws. Just jump in your skis then throw your hands and head backwards as much as you can.

If you throw it hard enough you'll come around due to shear inertia and won't get hurt if you try to not commit.

One you do that once and it comes around, even if you over rortate, you'll have the feeling of it and you'll be able to do it the second time easily with confidence.

im on an iPhone--sorry for grammar.

I did it on a little 10 footer. At the top of the inrun I sad to my friend who backflips pretty consistently "If you backflip I'll frontflip (I've landed a few). Instead I said fuck it as I was coming down to the jump and decided to backflip. Under-rotated, got up, realized it was easy and now I can backflip.

Finding a poppy jump and just hucking one worked for me. The only thing I've noticed that's different from a tramp is it's pretty blind at first. When your flipping that fast its hard to tell where the knuckle is, especially in flat light. I honestly suggest doing it on a bigger jump, you'll have more time to spot the landing, and more time to adjust your flip's speed if your over/under rotating.

Just my 2 cents.

The "do it in Powder" argument doesn't really apply for the many many skiiers that get absolutely no powder every year.

yeee, powder isn't an option for most skiers like me, so i just set up a mini kicker into a super soft landing. get the trick down on tramp first, then move it to skis

Try to really get them down. Like no bounce easily. No arm swing. Stuff like that, and be able to do them every time. It will boost your confidence knowing that you can ALWAYS bring one around
