Firewall help at school

hey, i haven't been on here for ages but i do remember some computer smart people used to be on here.

so i just moved into rez and my school blocks msn.. does anyone know how to get around this? i have vista if that helps. and i know how to use online versions.. what i really want is to find a way to sign on to my downloaded version.

anyone have any ideas?
 
i'm not really sure what your second suggestion is.

if a proxy could work and your could walk me thru it that would be helpful.

i need to be able to use the features on the downloadable version of msn such as video calls, because i'm *hopefully* using this instead of the phone since it would be crazy long distance for me to call home
 
well the whole proxy thing could be a bit complicated and you'd probably only be able to use msn2go which kinda sucks..... but if your school only blocks msn, use another program:

it does the exact same things as msn, try using it. thated be the simplest way
 
yes theres tons of sites, and they are great... for typing.

i need the features. video-calling in particular, i'm a long way from home so long-distance calls all the time would empty my bank account fast.

so basically web versions dont help me
 
My school blocks websites like myspace and all the good ones. My solution was to install Firefox on my thumb drive. Works perfectly and i was pretty surprised with it.
