Firefox vs. Internet Explorer

hey guys,

I've herd alot of good things about firefox but my dad wont let me install it becuz he doesnt "trust" it , so if u could please tell me the ups and downs of firefox and compare it to internet explorer...

who will be the next best browser??

i like firefox better b/c of the tabs n such, i also think its a little faster. Also on it everything is a little easier to get too (history etc..)... the only thing i still keep internet explorer for are things like interactive trail maps that dont work for some readon on firefox..

If your dad doesnt trust firefox then what the hell is he doing on IE? Tell him to read a few articles in PCWorld and PC related magazines. Firefox is taking over, although supposedly there is going to be released a new version of IE with lots of security updates. Also Firefox is proven to be a lot faster.

IE downloads a shitload of stuff you don't need. if there's one program you should'nt trust, it's IE

firefox=no popups. end of story. better virus protection and spyware and downloads are like 10 times as fast.

firefox is great because there is less pop-ups and/or interuptions.it is also good if you do web developing because you can view the html by simply right clicking.

to sum this all up,firefox is your better bet.

Yeah firefox is much better and way more secure. I hardly ever use ie, its too slow allows popups and firefox is just better.

 
i downloaded firefox a while ago and i like it better, its faster and more security, just basically what everyone else said ^

Versus? There isn't a competition. IE sucks royal goat ass...which of course is much worse than regular goat ass...There are so many security flaws and the vast majority of browser based viruses, etc. are written for IE, i.e. (haHA I'm on firrrre) Microsoft.

i tried downloading it a while ago but when i open up the Firefox setup a little window comes up thats titled 7-Zip and says unspecified error. does anyone know what the problem is? i think it has something to do with the program its trying to open it with but when i right click it doesnt have the Open with -> thing so idk

 
firefox is so much better. along with what everyone else said, it also has never frozen on me. i cant say that for IE. IE was slow to boot up, slower browsing, and just wasnt as clean.

the reason that firefox is a much safer web browser is because it is not integrated into your operating system like IE.

internet explorer is SO much worse than firefox. you can assure ur dad that firefox is NOT a problem. Everyone iv talked to is completely happy with it, as am i. theres no popups, no spyware, its faster than IE when you speed it up, and you can do so much more. its a ton easier, and well, theres just so many pros about it... cons... well i cant even think of any.

i have firefox and i get WAY LESS POP UPS AND SHIT with this over i.e. internwet exlplorer loads so much shiz-nit onto your pc its not even funny.

firefox hands down. plugin support isnt an issue anymore like it used to be, everything from flash to java, firefox supports just as well as IE. firefox blocks popups, come with a download manager so you actually know where your stuff is getting saved you, tabbed browsing is brilliant, its faster, and doesnt crash. the only thing i have found that IE supports and firefox does not is customized colored scrollbars. other than that, firefox does a much better job rendering html pages than IE, which has its own ghettofied version of HTML that it likes better than w3c standard html. so tell your dad he's a moron is the moral of the story
