Firefox or Safari?

Currently on Chrome but I'm not yet convinced its better than Firefox. Adblock is awful compared to Firefox's and other than that they are basically the same. They both crash about the same amount.

firefox does have private browsing, pretty much the exact same thing

and for people who didn't know, with the later releases of Firefox, just press ctrl+shift+p and you can watch all the pron you want without anyone ever knowing.

Safari at the moment, I used to swear by chrome but flash player always crashed and I couldn't deal with it anymore.

and to address the actual topic, it really depends what you want.

for basic support, Firefox is much better:

-If you use most Unix operating systems you are supported my Firefox but not Chrome.

-if you have any operating system earlier than XP SP2 for Windows or OS 10.5 for Mac then you cannot use Chrome but you can use Firefox, and most of the world is still using operating systems below XP SP2

Firefox does have lower system requirements (comparing latest releases):

Firefox:

-233MHz processor

-64 MB RAM

-52 MB hard drive space

Chrome:

-needs at least a Pentium 4 processor (for Windows)

-128 MB RAM

-100 MB hard drive space

-one Ubuntu it is only supported on 8.04 and later which is just stink

As of now, Firefox is much more customizable with more ad-ons available

All of Firefox's source code is open source while some of Chrome's is not.

Also I would consider Firefox a lot safer as Google has been known to harvest information from users of its products.

but apparently the response time is a few milliseconds better on Chrome, so if you can detect a difference of 8 milliseconds Chrome is for you.

depends how i am feeling. there are things i like about both. firefox doesn't play bangbros videos...so safari ftw

and lots of what Chrome has is thanks to Mozilla pretty much dominating in search engine creation. such as tabs, customizable search bars (where you can have it search google, wikipedia, imdb, youtube from the same drop down box) etc etc.

and Google has NOT open sourced the entire browser. The majority of it is open source, but there are some core parts which they have not released the code to where as Firefox has absolutely everything available.

and I honestly do not have any problems with Firefox crashing. I'm going to say it's because I don't load it with ad-ons and just keep it a simple, clean browser.

but comparing this to Chrome (which I also have as just the simple clean browser) there is virtually no difference at all.

right, forgot my point. there being pretty much no difference at all I'd rather not support the multi-billion dollar company which is slowly eating up the entire interwebs.

and Google made 23.651 billion last year. I'm going to say that's a significant bit more. and it's not so much the profits I don't like as the fact that they are corporatizing (if that's a verb) the internet. I'd like it much better if not every site I went on was owned by the same massive corporation, and that's pretty much what is happening with Google. They are a damned quality company that have awesome products (gmail and Google Earth etc just kick ass), but I'd still prefer it to be separate independent companies which operate these things.

a great example is Newschoolers. It has a ton less appeal to know it's actually owned by a much larger company and is not the completely skier run, skier funded site that it was.

Safari.
Few reasons.
1. color rendering is true to image. View a website in safari and in firefox at the same time. You will see Safari's as being much more vivid. From a design standpoint, it is more accurate to how the web designer intended.
2. HTML5/ CSS3 is already up and working pleasant.
3. It gives you awesome details on what exactly of a site isn't working properly and lets you easily turn off cache, java, flash, and anything else you may want to do.
4. The history can be really useful when you forget what site it was that you found that really awesome thing you wanted.
5. instead of increasing text size for difficult to read sites, it allows you to zoom so that all images, text and everything zooms and the page isn't actually distorted.
6. If you are on a mac, safari uses the Macs native spell checker so you always know when you are spelling something wrong.

Id say the color rendering, spell check, and zoom are the reasons that I'm sold on safari.
I do prefer Firefox's firebug web developing tools over Safari's though... thats about it.

im a firefox man myself as i usually have a lot of tabs open and find that firefox manages them the best,

also it has no history and bookmarks are hella easy to manage. although i use safari for facebook cuz it keeps fucking up on firefox

I have my own computer, so no one will know, and anyways, everyone knows I watches porn. All my friends know, what guy doesnt watch porn? I use safari because it loads pornhub quicker than safari

Firefox.

I don't know why everyone is bitching about fox. If you don't want the add-ons. then dont download them!!

And to the people bitchin about toolbars being too cluttered.

click View --> Toolbars--> then deselect any you dont need.

Firefox rareeellyy fails on me. I love it

Chrome is superior in every way. It's quicker and more powerful. It has isolated tabbing. The only issue I have is that shockwave crashes more often that in Firefox.
