so I was in sportscheck yesterday. Decide to see what skis they have in there, the majority were recreationsal skis, and then some scratch FS and the 1080's for twins. The my eyes came across a pair ive never seen before. I took a closer look and I realized they were firefly. I'm no expert but last I checked they were a snowboarding company. The skis were really cheap like 250 or somehting.

So do you guys think that more snowboarding company will be makig twin tips as skiing becomes "cool" again?

yea i think that they will, only because skiing IS COOL! but firefly and all that are really low quality stuff, just looking for another buck $$. but look at the lib tech snowboard company they have also made a couple skis also.

firefly isn't "cool" as you say. it's a cheap company making snowblades and cheap snowboard to make easy money.

Firefly is cheap and they don't only make snowboards and snowblades, they do inline skates, skateboards... everything! You could compare it to an ugly brand that comes from walmart or zellers but it might be a bit better!

i'd like to get a pair and just use them on rails and urban stuff to see how long they last. a cheap ski is what i need, somthing that im not affraid to mess up

yes firefly is cheap but they're not a legit snowboard or snowlerblade company.

they are the private brand of the forzani group, sportcheks parent company. firefly also does footwear, outerwear and other cheap crap.

I wouldnt buy firefly... id rather pay for a pair of skis from a real ski company, Forzani specialises in retail sell, not ski fabrication...

ya i saw them there and i thought they were more expensive than the 1080s. i could be wrong though

holy crap, a 122-87-112 181cm ski for $250 CDN is jokes. Getting those at the end of the season on sale.....

even if they suck, that's be a sick urban ski.

firefly is a company thats made for the shop sportscheck ou sport experts in qc

like 720 clothes from wallmart

greetz from austria !

so, i can tell u something about "firefly" skis:

the official company that builds these skis is "PALE"

-- > Firefly RPX 300 = PALE TTX66 http://www.palesport.at/english/

so, i know that this company isnt known well either, but as an austrian i also know that they produce surface-finishing for atomic and fischer skis. PALE is also involved in producing for a canadian freeski-make named "Armada".

ok, ok, PALE is not the best quality but compared with others, especially in terms of pricing, they rock ! i have a pair of "firefly rpx 300" (in austria their no-name is "TecnoPro rpx". bought them with "TecnoPro" bindings for 179euros !! actually the tecnopro binding is an ORIGINAL Salomon w/ tecnopro imprint!!!

my 2c: the PERFECT ski for grinding and for training for all grades.

catch ya,

mike

firefly makes cheap stuff for people who are just learning. Kinda a good idea cause lots of kids that wanna get into park skiing can't afford T-halls or even fujatives.

I think Lib Tech is dope, I might be riding them next year. I never understood this crap about as comfy in the big mouontain as the park. um NO SKI does that, park skiis are weak and don'thave the power for big mountain almost ever/

@*andrewT*

you maybe right, and the design of the pale ttx66 also isn't great. but if you say the make cheap stuff, you also have to accept that ARMADA is a cheap company, too !

-> PALE mostly IS ARMADA or lets say ARMADA

mostly is PALE !! but at ARMADA the graphic design is "super cool" ! ;-)

mike

It's a shame you don't understand how things work.

Enjoy your pale skis.

And i do think there is a market for firefly type of skis, and im glad that kids out there can get on a set up that won't blow there pockets out of the water, and still have a great time on the hill.

hi again,

now I don't know what you mean...

(may be the language barrier...)

i didn't wanna offend anyone!

just wanted to let know that the "PALE ttx66" aka "Firefly RPX300" is cheap in price, but isn't that bad in quality as some other postings would suggest.

--> and "ARMADA" wouldn't let produce parts of its supply at PALE in austria.

i would like an armada ski with that design for about 200USD better, of course.

greetz,

mike

yeh man i think that the industry is going to explode in the next few years just as boarding just did...but then it will either go back to boarding, or some new sport...like every day at least 5 times i either see boarders on twins, or them asking their buddies on twins to switch for s bit...i dnt like how people are buying shit from big box stores like how sportchek carries rossi twins now...they didnt before...but they are now to make a quick dollar...SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL SHOPS...becasue at the end of teh day, they are the ones putting in all in for the sport...
