Firefighters show up, watch house burn to ground

The fact still remains, these guys had the option to easily save this guy hundreds of thousands of dollars and emotional tradgety, and they didnt do shit. Yes, they weren't required to do anything as firefighters, but I would think as a decent thinking human being, if someones home is on fire, you try to help them. Its not like we're on different teams here, are we?
 
what color is your skin? what bible do you read? where were your grandparents from? what party do you vote for? how many testicles do you have? who are you sexually attracted to? do you use drugs? do you eat meat? how tall are you? for how long did you attend school? do you own a gun? do you ride the bus? what language do you speak? what type of music do you listen to? how do you make your money and how much do you make? Do you have your papers?

oh, and mac or pc?

as i just mentioned this, i'm going to say it's a red herring. there shouldn't have been a separate $75 subscription fee in the first place.
 
dont make the assumption that what i consider to be a moral code to live my own life by, and good public policy to be equal.

the fact of the matter is though that when i make the choice to help someone its a choice im making. when i make someone else help me through coercion, my "help" becomes a destructive act towards someone else's rightful property. see what im getting at?

if anything the person that chooses to help, and not demand help from his fellow man (read government initiatives) is the most morally upright person there is.
 
i want this to happen once where there are bullets that start shooting off because the guy keeps a box of them on an end table or something and than have a fire fighter get knicked or something and then everyone will freak out like OH WE SHOULDA FUCKIN DID THE OBVIOUS

I've been trying to stay out of this thread, because there's A LOT of ignorance.

But I'll slowly step in....

Firefighters don't make hazard pay. Just saying.
 
lets consider i own a home (which i dont) i enter into a private contract with a private company to provide fire protection for my home. chances are my home will never catch fire, i dont live in a wild fire prone area, the home is modern, and built well.

so as weve established, ive entered into a contract with a company to protect my home should it catch fire, they dont follow through with their end of the contract. we have a breach of contract, i sue for the damages, collect what i have coming.

or they put the fire out and it was a good deal ive kept up on my "fire insurance" payments.

ive lold a couple of time at the talking heads on the TV about how it was "ala carte" government, or a privatized model, when in reality it was the government, not the private sector. (not directed at you, just a general statement of my thoughts on the issue based on what ive seen on TV)

then pay your fucking fee and receive the coverage. fuckin people trying to beat the system and plead for sympathy after shit goes sour. better luck next time, numbskull. cheap lesson, but that's the way it goes.
