Finding a good worm gear set !

Hello,

I'm working on a timelapse slider and I now need some gears, more precisely a worm gear set with a reduction ratio of about 1:20-1:40 in steel.

I've been searching on eBay but cannot find anything useful, I just need one to get the job done, not something super fancy !

If possible, I'm looking for a website where I would be able to custom choose what gear I'd like !

In the previous version on my slider I used a Lego worm gearbox !



But it wasn't strong enough and everything broke.

If you have any links or ideas where i could find some it would be great

I'd probably contact these guys and see what they can do for you but these seem like they're pretty customizable and universal. Can't really go wrong for $60, but you will still need a motor- but you want to dial your rpms anyways so I'd say that's spot on.

This is the site we use at my school to order almost anything for an engineering project. I used it last year to order some parts for a mini drag racer we built for a class. I couldn't get the direct link to work, but just click on gears, then worm gears, and then specify the size you need.

Yeah mcmaster is the shit. I'd go with that if you're trying to do it proper.
