So for making edits i have a horrible time finding good music to go it.

how do you find your edit songs? Because i just watch edits and say to myself "i wanna use that song!" but i don't wanna be unoriginal
 
and then once you get to the point where lots of people are viewing your videos you'll want to check the Creative Commons ring of websites for songs that have non-commercial share-alike licenses. its a good way to avoid copyright issues
 
copy-right issues usually aren't a problem, even with edits that get 100k views

OP, pick a song that you like and have fun with it. you can never just go 'that would be a sick edit song' its more like 'i like this song, wonder how i could make it work' and edits with sick songs tend to start out just like that.
 
just start editing and see what works. Tho its been a while since I've posted any edits, anytime I hear music now, I try to mark it and put it in a playlist. I have one for commercial use and one for non-commercial. When I hear certain songs, I can visualize what I would want to see going with it. really tho, just watch and make a lot of edits.
