im switching tennis coaches, so far ive got two: Coach A: screams, curses, throws things, etc etc. Coach B: soft spoken, gently suggests changes, etc etc

Coach C: Have yet to meet w. him cause of winter vaca. but im hoping he'll be the perfect combo of the two. so this leads me to the q. would you rather have a coach who is a complete douche (A) or one thats really nice but not so pushy (B)

id rather have A but i play football. my coach this year was nice and it didnt motivate the team, we made fun of him and everyone hated him. the year before my coach was kind of like A and we started off bad but he pushed us and we finished good. i would say that A would push you more, but i dont know because it is tenis and you might need different things

man, id rather have the first one. the ones thats a huge dick to you. it may not be very fun now, but it will pay off. beleive it or not but hes making you a better player.

think about it. it doesnt matter how good of a coach B is, if hes not gunna correct you when you screw up, well whats the point?

Well lets look at college basteball. Coach A would be Bob Knight and coach B would be Mike Kcezevski (sp. isnt even close). the two have extremely different styles and are both very successful. Many of Coach K's players probably wouldnt like playing for Knight and vise versa. its really a personal decision, whatever makes u feel most comforetable and makes u play at the highest level. for a sport like tennis, i think it would be best to have coach B. as a high school and tourny player, i know that its easy to lose your focus and break down mentally in tennis, probably more so than any other sport. i would need a coach that can be calm and get me back on my game, not fire me up so i try to hit winners every point.

its probly different for you because your a girl, i know my sister would hate a coach who screamed at her, but as for me id rather have A

yeah my football coach was a douchebag and we started out like 1-2 and then he pushed us alot and we ended up winning the rest of our games and beating our rival and it was cool bcause our varsity and JV team both lost to them.o well we finished off the season 7-2

the perfect coach is one who is not afraid to tell you when your doing whatever you do like shit, but also knows how to make you feel like you can be so good when your doing it right

If your coach yells at you you're going to hate them. Then you're going to hate tennis. Then you'll never want to practice and you won't get any better. If coach B suggests the right things then choose that one.

Definetly A, atleast he will keep a fire up under your ass the whole time, which would pay off in a long run.
