Find Handrails - Interactive Handrail Map

This is a site I am currently developing for the ski/ snowboard community that I need some help with. It is going to be a user submitted Handrail Map with pictures and descriptions of rails around your cities and home towns. I know a lot of you hold your rail locations close to your chests, but I believe something like this will benefit the community. You dont need to give up your banger secret spots if you dont want to, maybe just throw in a couple that might be well known to some and "played out".

Ive got a few people really helping me out with spots, and I've contributed all of the Milwaukee spots with help from my crew. If i get enough rails in an area, I will put them up regardless of the location (right now i have a lot of Midwest spots).

I realize this site may receive some hate, but take a moment to think what a resource like this could mean to filming, scouting, and getting better at handrails. If you think you would benefit from this site, I encourage you to help submit some rails in your area, the more the better. Thanks a ton guys.

diggin the idea. this could definitely help a whole lot of us with some input from the whole community. when i dig up a few spots ill be sure to help out
 
not very pumped on this, but it was bound to happen eventually. there needs to be some sort of code of honor to clean up your spots.

haha in both the threads one of the kids who posted it is like my best friend and the other goes to a school like ten minutes from ours. small world.
 
i feel like this is a cool idea, but seriously just go find stuff on your own. that is part of the fun in urban is finding shit and making it work
 
With that logic, ski trail maps wouldn't exist either. Something like this would progress urban, you wouldnt have to spend half of your time scouting out places, you could spend your full time actually hitting them instead of having "fun" running around the city trying to find new spots.

I do see where you are coming from, but if you could have the knowledge of a ton of peoples spots in a database, why in the world wouldn't you want it and use it to your advantage?
 
Well i think that is whats so cool about urban is its not like like skiing at a resort with a trail map it takes more effort to find the spots and get them to work. I just feel like urban spots shouldnt be posted up so everywhere online. then all of them would get way played out. just find your own unique things
 
LOCALS ONLY BRA put in the work for yourself you lazy snitch- all this is doing is ruining spots, skate stoppers, rails removed, higher security- its half the fun to find the perfect rail that nobody knows about and is alll yours and your friends for a session besides everyone knows slc, co, qc, montreal spots and so on who are you really helping the fucking blind, drive around.
 
someone had this idea a few years back and got nothing but hate for it, I guess the times have changed, but a lot of people arent going to want to give up their spots to the public in the first place
 
i had this same idea last year but I couldn't find someone to write the software b/c I wanted it to be an iphone app.
