Rex didn't go after the spot.. he was only in the area because he was going to x-games to watch all the guys... this team manager pushed and got him in..

turpin blew out his knee, so that opens spots in both slopestyle and pipe? i think rex was first alternate and that's how he got in.

 
this year is all messed up, cause the next person in x-qualies should've gotten in, for slopestyle, chas waters, and for pipe, jp solberg
