Final Cut Pro + GO PRO

Alright I know everyone is going to scream search bar, but i have been trying to figure this out long enough and none of threads i read helped at all. Can someone please explain to me out to convert gopro footy so that i can edit it with final cut pro? +k thanks ns

download a free program called mpeg streamclip. After that open your files individually in that program, set in and out points to what you want to export, and then export using video settings that match the settings you shot in.

already tried that. FCP still drops frames

import using imovie then import into final cut, and keep it on safe rt, not ulimited, so their won't be any dropped frames,

So to clarify, you can import MP4 straight off of GoPro into iMovie but not FCP? That seems weird.

I to am curious about this imovie noise, but using mpeg streamclip is pretty brainless and easy.

once the footage is on my computer i just import it into imovie. As Usual, File, Import. Then i choose the clips i want and put them in the project. Then you just go to share, export as FCP XML.

yes but does this do anything to the file like make them pro ress or apple intermediate codec....or something a little more final cut friendly?
