Filthy Rich or AR7?

I am having a tough time deciding between these to. I know they are both great skis and i can get the ar7 a lot cheaper but i keep hearing that the filthy rich is just an amazing park ski. (the best pretty much). The season is almost over and i already have enough money for the ar7, but i dont know if i should wait a while and just get the filthy rich because i still have to save up for bindings anyways and by that time the season will probably be over. (I have 400 dollars and the Ar7 is 375, or i could just wait longer and get the filthy rich which is like 150 dollars more)

If anyone could give any suggestions etc. +++++k to you. Also i am expert outside the park and i suck in the park. I have been riding 169cm k2 extremes so i obviously need a longer ski because im 6'2 and 210 lbs.

I would wait until the on3p sale this early this summer, if they do that again. I've ridden ar5's, blue steeles and filthy riches and I think the on3p's are superior in every way. I think they'll have a 186 next year that would fit you nicely

ON3P is a quality company that makes quality skis, they may be more expensive but right there you are paying for exceptional quality and also supporting the best up and coming freeski brand there is

We're telling people not to pin their hopes on a presale for next years skis, as we're starting retail it may be a very short presale, or none at all.

181cm Filthy's are finally back in stock as of yesterday, and we do have an end of season sale going on now, up to $150 off depending on size and model.

all i ride is on3p, all i recommend is on3p, all i will ever purchase is on3p, and there are many reasons for that, the quality simply can not be beat. Once you ride a pair, you will see what all the hype is about. thickest, strongest edges possible, very durable and very fast base, carbon fiber in all their skis for added pop, and bamboo is hands down the best core material you will ever find.

I'm having a similar debate, just wrecked my og invaders. Leaning towards the ON3Ps, because of all the awesome reviews, and I'd like to support the company. How do they compare to say, scratches?

I wasn't gonna post here...but I guess I have to now...

Everything Balto said...I agree fully.

I've owned both AR6s and FRs...there's no comparison, FRs are much better, both in quality and in skiability.

There really isnt a reason to have one at this point honestly. It was nice at the beginning because it eased people's minds when purchasing skis from a new company, but now people know how amazing their skis are and don't have the hesitation. When you compare their skis to the other "high end" models from other brands, they are all about the same price, and with on3p you really get what you payed for. They could charge $1000 for their pow skis and it would still be worth it. Just because you can't afford them "right now" doesnt mean you can't down the road when it actually comes time to buy new skis, just save up a little more money.

compare say the filthy to an armada halo, the FR retails for about $75 more, and you are not only getting a better built ski, but also one made in the US by some of the nicest guys you could ever meet who are always down to answer any questions about the product or just shoot the shit about skiing in general. the small premium you pay for US made "indy" brands is worth it 110%. Once you buy indy, its hard going back

Yeah i have heard a ton of good things about ON3P. I will just wait till i get enough cash money and get the 181 filthy rich.

You could go either way, but you do have the height & weight to ski the 186cm FR with no issues.

not worth it, not to mention all the shit armada is doing to the industry(not good), i would never waste my money on any of their products ever again (i have owned a pair of AR6s)

From everything I've heard and seen, On3p's construction is burly and top notch. That is so important in a park ski, not to mention the shape looks rad. Armada also makes a phenomenal ski that has similarly awesome construction.

The ar7s aren't even in the same league as filthy riches.

I have owned 2 pairs of ar7s, ar6s and filthy riches. Ar7s suck.

I'm 5'10 145 lbs and the 181's feel perfect. I came from 166's. You totally could ski the 181 no problem but I would definitely go for the extra length and stability.

Im checking out some shops in durango colorado so i can see what some options are if i can find some skis for cheap. If not ill save money up and go withthe filthy rich.

Its about 18m in the 171, 19m in the 181. Its sorta weird though since it tightens in the rocker sections a lot, they definitely dont feel as wide to turn when you're on them in a hard turn.

AR7's do not suck, great all mountain park ski with high build quality. Good for people who also like to ski outside the park (great carve). Ski might be a little stiff for some people, but very stable. Have really enjoyed using mine, if you can get a good deal you should definitely consider a pair.

AR7's and FR's are both great quality, so it's all personal preference and how much you want to spend. I've heard so many good things about ON3P, but have never ridden them. I have AR7's, and love them.

I have AR7s and they were great for the first few weeks of the season, but like a month in they felt like they lost most of their pop. I noticed it got a lot harder to make big jump ons and get the same kick off jumps. If I were you I'd go with the FR. From what people are saying it's much better, and as much as I love my AR7s, they're already winding down their life cycle and its only been one season.

Let me tell you though that i havent even touched a rail or box and havent even hit a very big jump, but im ready for that next step.

My thalls from this year are already done. Like delaminating I the right tip, one ski lost all it's camber, like it lays flat while the other one has full original camer, and edge is ripping out
