Filming while Skiing

I just bought a sony camera to film skiing with and i was wondering if anyone knew where i could get one of those handles to hold to camera from the top instead using the wrist strap. I know they exsist, but i cant seem to find one. On some cameras they come attached, like part of the microphone, but i need to find one as an accessory to attach. Any help would be great....

 
Step 1: Go to your local hardware store and pick up a piece of bend-able

aluminum (Keeping in mind, it will need to support your camera).

Step 2: While at the Hardware store, pick up a nut and bolt, that fits

the size of your camera's tripod socket (Make sure it's long

enough to hold the aluminum securely).

Step 3: Drill the necessary size hole into one end of the aluminum.

Step 4: Screw the aluminum into the camera, via tripod socket, then bend

and cut the aluminum as necessary.

*Aluminum should be loose enough to move freely when pushed, as if to release the battery, look through view finder, etc.

i just use my tripod for follows...its super stable and u can extend it to get really close to the skier when in actuality ur not that close...plus u can hold it up in the air when they're doin some cool tricks..when my damn lap top gets fixed i'll post a vid using that and 'll see how cool it really is

RS4lifes handle is good but make sure when u make urs u dont bend it so its upclose to the buttons and cant press them without takeing ur gloves off

You could probably attatch one to the hotshoe mount if you had the right hardware and it would be more stable and compact.

Whoever said about using a tripod, me and Scotland were riding dryslope last night and we starpped the camcorder to some poles, then held it way up high right beside the kicker - it looked awesome with the fisheye lens. Video should be uploaded in a few days. We're going to get a tripod next time we're up so that we can get the angle perfect and it won't chake around so much.
