Filming in a sea kayak- techniques?

Hey guys,

On Wednesday I am doing a 5-day sea kayaking trip on the west coast.

I realized that a tripod and glidecam aren't going to be very accessible when paddling, so most likely I will have to shoot handheld.

Does anybody here have any experience with shooting in a sea-kayak or canoe handheld?

I'd be stoked to here any thoughts.

Thanks,

K

Try one of those cheap fold-up shoulder braces from Amazon. A gorillapod might work but I haven't had the chance to try it yet.

Are you doing solo or tandem? Tandem is great for shooting because the person in back can row while you GTS.

Try using a pillow or a sand bag of some sort and set that on your lap and put the camera on top. It'll stop a lot of vibration and hold the camera in place for a smooth and steady shot.
