Do people higher to have people followcam and film them? my friend is a damn good follow cammer and editor, with a super legit hd camera ( HVR-V1U) and was wondering if ppl actually do higher for shit like that...
 
yeah his friend is a super good editor and filmer and wants to know if anyone is interested cuz he already has gotten someone on the salomon regional team this spring.

yeah they do, but alot of places usually look for a decent background in the field of interest. Athletes wont personally hire you usually, and even with a camera like that the skills have to be in place. Usually you'll need to be more rounded than just a filmer/editor to get hired somewhere atleast with my experience.
 
i would pay to have someone follow me around with a camera and make an edit. i think it would be worth it to have a non bitching camera man. like i'm pro but not.
 
yeah, but paying a filmer isnt everything he has to mesh with you. being a filmer myself even if someone was to pay me to film them for a day i wouldnt go film someone i dont mesh with and what not. I want to beable to chill and make sure its someone i can work with in the future as well. If you dont get along with your filmer because you are he is a bitch your quality of product will not be as great.
 
uh Travis who? Im not saying just send them footage, its not like that. You have to talk to them and plan it out. I think I might have just lucked out, I dont know.

And to the person taht told me to send my camera back to the shop, you are a fuckhole cuz i have my own production company.  Garentee my camera is a shitload nicer then you have and i know what im doing.  I happened to be a certified for Final Cut Pro.  So uhh you better watch who you say that to you fuckhole.

dude you have only posted one thing on this site and just based on that i dont think you have the right to even bash shit that was edited even on movie maker. also that wasnt my video it was mski's video who you were trying to bash on even though he makes shit that is 10 times sicker then anything you can do
 
duude! no need for controversy! i was just messing around! Dont go giving me stuff about you haveing a certified final cut pro licence or whatever. Im just working with what i know which is all self taught... me having full n stuff. But honestly, no need to diss me.
 
Just because you aren't a "certified Final Cut Pro specialist" doesnt mean you dont know what you're doing.

I havent taken a single editing class and Im pretty comfortable in FCP.
 
youre a joke dude, anybody can make a name for a "production company" and claim they have one. so you're "a certified for final cut pro"? wheres you're fuckin certificate. ive taken final cut classes, and it doesnt mean shit. just because you take a final cut class, doesn't mean you automatically become an amazing editor.
 
YOur certified in final cut pro so is that like a lisence or what cause i have adobe premier pro and i dont wanna be driving illegaly man. punk ass bitch, just cause your mommy and daddy pay for your little classes on video editing doesnt mean you should go around flontin it. Actually, I walked up to Chris Benchetler in Mammoth, and just simply asked if I could film him. He was super chill, we skied the whole day together, and he just threw down for the camera.
 
i find it bogus when people look for money for doin something they love to do. I love filming...honestly i was not super happy with the trailer this year but I've been really tied over with trying to get school stuff done so when i go to college I cna learn some cool new stuff. Plus we had a seriuos lack of footy so i didnt want to take alot of that.

Also long as theres Hype in this thread...Come to the Yah Buddy Premier in August! Rail Jam and the Movie! Date to be released! Movie should be online free tho!
 
haha okay, post to end all this. I meant nothing against mski, from what ive seen he has plenty of editing skill, and is really good with the animation stuff. I was just pointing out my certification, due to the fact I though mski was insisting i dont know what im doing, which i didnt think was necessary. I had a friend make this thread for me, cause i was curious to see if there was any career in filming and editing that i could do on the side of my own company. Ha i see no reason for hate at all. everyone chillll.
 
no class can teach you creativity. Editing skills dont mean shit without a good head on your shoulders.

getting final cut certified isn't that hard.  you just buy the book, go through it, take a test at the end, and bam, done.  good thing to put on your resume for sure, but doesn't give anyone a license to claimmm.

aaah I will incorperate it into my next edit. I just finished my promo. Im tired, maybe later this week. It should have all the tahoe footage except tim.

wait do you have any footage of travis that i could use?  i never was able to get to filming him with the hole tyler thing happening and then i stayed in bend a couple extra days and then my other friends had nationals too, so yeah, you have any footage i could use?  what camera do you use?
