Whats the film camera Mike Burroughs is seen shooting with at 0:41? It looks amazing and I wanna say its something fancy like a Minolta or a Leica but I really have no clue. I doubt I'll be able to afford one either but it would be cool to dream about.

The edit itself is pretty well put together as well so enjoy the whole thing. thanks!

The early Nikon F's had waist level finders, and the aperture numbering on the lens look kinda Nikon-esque. Not completely sure though.

It's a pentacon six. Russian medium format camera, they go for like $200 with a lens on ebay.

I actually have no idea how I know that....

Wait no, I'm wrong, a medium format camera wouldn't have rewind knob. What 35mm cam's have WLFs?

Okay well, I can tell you it's 100% russian or eastern european.

It could be a Praktica VLC, they vary slightly model to model but this is similar.

Praktica VLC3:

It could also be an Exakta or Exa. IDK, it's to hard to tell you the exact model based on the top.

Wait I figured it out, it's a Miranda Sensorex. It's not russian, it's actually japanese. They sell on ebay for around $50-$100, so not that much.

I have way to much free time.

No, I recognized it, I just had to some searching. There was one on my local Craigslist a while ago.

I would love a similar simple med format camera with a sharp lens for a walkaround film camera. ZB you know of any that actually produce sharp images?

That Pentacon is pretty sharp, or a TLR like a YashicaMat 124G or Minolta AutoCord. Your other, more expensive option is to go for a rangefinder like any of the various negative size Fuji models or the Makina 67 (My dream camera).

But really the two words small and sharp don't really go together in the medium format world though.

Fucking hipsters.

I don't care about small or discrete, and I hate rangefinders. haha. I just want something cheap-ish, like in the 200 range. I have a Yashica A, I LOVE shooting with it, but it's not very sharp, and that bothers me.

I like the idea of the Pentacon, or a similar camera.

I know you said cheapish range, but my assistant manager at work told me about this camera and recommended it to me for a medium format camera that's similar to a hasselblad. they upgrade 6x6 russian kiev cameras with a bunch of new components, so it's like getting a brand new 6x6 camera that's similar to a blad for

yeah same, perhaps this summer. I'm stuck between that and a hasselblad 500cm, the arax looks quite nice for the price, but you know the blad is gonna be real nice and the fact that it is a hasselblad is better haha

WHY IS EVERYONE TEMPTING ME WITH MF CAMERAS GAAHHHHH

that looks so sweet. Must. Resist. Buying.

oh i know.

blame zbphoto though, telling me I should get into film and medium format
