beh sorry the thing sent my thread out and glitched. This is probably a noob question but what is the best program to edit ski films with?

for PC - Adobe Premiere Pro
for Mac - FInal Cut Pro
both of those are pretty expensive but you can find them for free...and depending on your level of expertise in editing they may be too advanced
if you don't feel comfortable 'stealing' software or want to start off with something a little more basic, iMovie is probably your best bet

its way easier to learn the basics in less advanced software and then work your way up....if you're just starting out FCP can be overwhelming
you also don't want to spend a grand on software until you've decided that you enjoy it and are good at it
PCs suck. if you're serious about editing you need a Mac....but if you're just starting out and you already have a PC, there's no point in switching to Mac until you know you want to do a lot of editing. a PC can get the job done

the software itself is almost identical...you do everything in premiere that you can in FCP.
the difference is in the convenience and ease in which you can do it. most PCs are too slow to handle the video so you notice a lag when editing and playing the video. Premiere freezes a lot more often because windows can't deal with all the information, forcing you to quit the program without saving. when I was editing on a PC I could only have Premiere running or the whole computer would crash....now that I have a Mac I can edit in FCP, listen to music, check my emails, download porn, go on skype, etc all at the same time with no problems.
the end result of your video will be the same whether you use FCP or premiere...you'll just get it done faster and easier in FCP. if you're trying to save money and already have a PC, you're best to upgrade your graphics card and RAM instead of switching to Mac. if you're planning on buying a new computer to edit on and you're debating between a mac and a PC, spend a bit extra and get the Mac, it will be less hassles in the long run.

no hate but any software with the word 'windows' in it is garbage...the only thing WMM is good for is compressing video on a PC

well i have 4gb of ram, 2.6ghz dual processors, a bombin graphics card with a gb of ram to itself.
i run premiere and after effects at the same time and work between them.
sorry im just sick of people saying you need a mac if you want to do video editing. its all about your computer specs not your os.

ya you're computer is capable of video editing, but you're gonna get more glitches simply because you're working with Windows
specs are important but my Mac has 2 GB of Ram and 2.2GHz dual processor and I guarentee my computer is faster and easier to edit on simply because OS X is better at handling video than Windows

yup...I spent a whole bunch of money upgrading my family's PC so I could edit on it. 6 months later I bought a MacBook Pro so I wouldn't have to deal with all the hassles. the hardware on a mac doesn't have to be as powerful because the OS is superior
the fact of the matter is that most people enjoy looking at porn and want to be able to access it for free on the internet....the problem is that a lot of free porn comes with free viruses which slow down your computer. none of the viruses are for Macs so you can thoroughly enjoy your pornographic experience without negatively affecting your computer's performance

the os is not superior. im not hating on macs but if you have a pc running the same specs and your not stupid with it im sure you could run your programs very much the same.
yes a lot of people in the industry edit and operate on macs but there is also a lot doing exactly the same with pc. a lot of what you hear is commercialism.

ive got vegas 7.0, still getting to know it but its a huge step up from anything that comes on a computer
