Woods, did you get the battery problem fixed of your OM-1 or do you just use a 1.5v battery?

I use a 1.35 volt battery. They still make them really small for hearing aids. I got it the night before I left for brazil at a walgreens and use little pieces of those foamy ear plugs (they were on the same rack) to keep it in place. Works like a charm.

Yeah, I know they still make those, but from what I've heard they are depleted really, really quickly. Never used them myself. What's your experience? From what I've read it sounds like you can shoot 5 rolls with the battery before it dies.

Do you have the Weincell brand ones?

I don't really drink outside of on3p related events it seems, but MT + beer is inspiring.

So the camera I have (p30) only takes film with the dx coding on it. What are some good color options for that?

So, I have a bunch of velvia slides I want to digitize, what is the best way to do this? My local photo place wants to charge me 5 bucks a piece, are there any other good options? Thanks!

Obviously, you need the laser from Tron.

I just got my first roll back, shot on my Fed 3 with expired Ektachrome. For my first roll I'm really happy with how it turned out.

How much is alot for film? I was gonna buy some 35mm velvia 50 36 exposures but the store wanted 18 dollars? Seemed a little steep.

thats pretty bad

18 bucks is really bad, but you won't find it for less than 13$ or so probably. In my opinion 35mm chromes aren't really worth it.

On a semi-related note: I have way, way, way too much film.

So what color film would you recommend thats cheap and would work for my ae1p?

Honestly, most color films are good. Kodak Gold can be had for like 3$ a roll and gives really nice tones in my opinion.

Welcome to the world of a Canadian film prices. B&H and Adorama are by far the best optipns, cheap shipping with prepaid duty make cros boarder a breese. I never buy film locally, even at my work with my discount its still not worth it unless I'm in a pinch and need a very specific film stock.

I got my camera for $2000 and I'm still not going to spend another $20 on a roll of film, aha! As Tij said Kodak Gold and Fuji Superia are both great low cost colour films, shouldn't have to pay more than a few bucks for a 24 or 36 frame roll. For B&W Kentmere 400 is pretty cheap, or dash out a little bit more for Tri-X or HP5+.

I have 10 rolls I need to scan and edit through but so little time.

I need to assign minions or henchman to do those tasks

So how bad is it? I just counted it all, and it's close to 400 rolls of film. 215 rolls of 35mm (75% black and white, 25% chromes) and 180 rolls of medium format (80% chromes).

Looks like it's time to sell about half that. Especially the medium format...

Oh shit. And then I forgot about the box and a half of Fuji C200 I have. 150 rolls. So that brings the grand total to 550+ rolls (counting instant film). God damnit...

Going to shoot at a small scale pretentious undiscovered outdoor music festival, I'm thinking Portra 160..for that carefree hipstervibe. (Don't worry Tri-X is in the bag as well.) Any other suggestion?

Also Tijmen? where can I get it in amsterdam? My two frequently visited shops don't carry Portra for some idiotic reason.

Foto Den Boer surely has it? That's my favorite shop in town. Otherwise Nivo Schweitzer will.

I never buy film new though, especially expensive films like Portra.

I also prefer to buy in bulk but I never really use colour so I have nothing in stock.

Also when I quickly need film I'm usually a filthy almost tourist like casual and go to Studio Spui because it´s on route, but they have no Portra.

I completely forget about Nivo, thanks.

Went to a flea market this morning.

Bought a bucket of expired Ektachrome from 15+ years ago as well as a bunch of random Konica print films...

For 20$. There's like spiderwebs in here and shit. I can't wait to resurrect these and make fun #artz.

I have five boxes of 4x5 ektachrome that are about that old... Are they still remotely usable for anything other than looking cool in the fridge?
