Filling my perscription

i just realized that because of my epliepsy i can get a perscription for marijuana in colorado and some other states. I'm moving out there pretty soon and i was wondering how i should go about getting a perscription for it. Anyone that has a perscription that could give advice would be great?

haha oregon has the dopest set up for legal dank. i could get a prescription for anxiety attacks when i turn 18. with that, i grow like up to 15 plants or something for the nominal fee of $150 per year. but, i would have to check in with some regulator guy to make sure im not sellin that pole.

google it, but i think you just have to talk to a doctor in colarado they will then write the prescription or tell you where to go

haha thats the tits!

only problem, if you fill that prescription from that point on you have to indicate on a work application that you do smoke pot and what its for.

good point. although it is legal for you to smoke most businesses probably wouldn't want to hire a pot smoker.

also a good point. sucks because a lot of people really do need it. i.e. cancer, ms, etc.

I wish people would lose the stereotype that your some kind of loser/retard if you smoke pot. I know plenty of loser/retards who have never touched drugs.

Exactly how many ailments are there than can be purportedly treated by marijuana? I mean I'll be the first to admit to being a pothead but it seems like they went overboard, considering the federal government still refuses to recognize that weed can have any medical use. It just seems like this could hinder the legalization movement as a whole because medical marijuana is being distributed FAR too indiscriminately. A lot of people like to argue that medical marijuana is just an excuse for potheads to get their fix, and it seems like this kind of lackadaisical distribution is pretty much exactly what they are talking about. Take this with a grain of salt though, I'm probably just bitter cuz I don't qualify.

I don't know it seems like a drug that covers many minor problems. Simply as a pain killer and anti-nausea(sp?) drug it can be used for many different illnesses. Hell I smoked off a hangover on thanksgiving so I could go eat with the family.

There might be more loser/retards that have never touched drugs but thats because way more people have never touched drugs. I'd say theres a higher percentage of loser/retards in the pot smoking population than the regular population. Its hard to lose a stereotype when it proves true more often than not. That doesn't necessarily mean that smoking pot makes you a loser/retard though.

id have to say theres an equal number of retards. seriously.

on to the topic at hand. i say if you really need it or feel as though that you do, then get it filled. but keep in mind what i said about future jobs.

Everybody knows that as soon as you set down your first J you're already reaching for that heroin needle.

Common knowledge. God.

haha

but seriously the only reason weed could be a gateway drug is because the us government says that all drugs are bad... and doesnt distinguish between heroin and marijuana, so people who try marijuana and realize its harmless think that haroin is no big deal either.

Have you ever seen that movie Grass?

The idea of weed as a gateway drug was invented when scientists discovered weed to be essentially harmless. Can't let that marijuana become legal after all. Hahahah, that reminds me actually. The word "marijuana" was popularized by the U.S. government because they thought a drug with a name that originated in Mexico would be shunned by the color fearing white folk of the period.

no you don't have to put perscriptions on your job app, you just have to explain why your test came back hotter than hot.

lots of people with cancer, ms, etc., aren't really looking into new jobs, and if they were lookng into a new job, it would be one that accomodated their illness. an employer who was willing to hire an employee with cancer, ms, etc., would definetely be fine with them taking medication

yeah that is totally different. for example, my friend was living out in CA for a while and her best friend's father is a doc out there. long story short my friend got a prescription for medical pot. went to the local store to retrieve it and was told by the pharmacist that if she were to fill that prescription, by law (not sure if its only in CA or if its a federal law) she would have to let employers/future employers know that it was filled.

all and all, i could care less who smokes pot. im all for legalizing it.

you guys could just grow your own in your basement, its not like they can catch you. just grow it under your stairs with an astroblanket around it and one of those flourescent lights=no heat escapes for the heat signature & less energy used. just keep that shit watered

i've never seen a work app that asks if you smoke or not...

that aside, i wouldn't answer the question honestly. if they somehow found out, and i can't think of any job outside the government that would be able to access medical records like that, i'd simply tell them that the script was filled, but the drugs were never taken. i've been arrested for possession and still don't include that on job apps since i have a special probation (7411, for those of you in Michigan familiar with the legal system), so it doesn't show up on my criminal record unless i violate my probation- obviously key for thorough background checks.

the way i see it, marijuana shouldn't be illegal, so the arrest for possession should never have happened. it cost me a ton of money, but it won't be on my record, so it didn't happen as far as any future employer needs to be concerned. as for the usage issue, since marijuana use is so highly stereotyped in such a negative way, i would not admit to future employers that i shhhmoke da reefer. my recreational use doesn't affect my performance at work, so it's none of their damn business.

There are many, some being silly in my mind. For example, a friend of mine out here in WA, has a medical marijuana permit for IBS. Now, I am not quite sure how marijuana helps with irritable bowel syndrome, but who am I to question the system.
