how do full tilt boots fit? are they generally a little smaller than shoe size? thinking of buying the level 1 full tilts but wanna make sure to get right size before dishing out the money, any info is helpful! thanks

Best way to find out is to be properly fitted by a boot fitter.

Don't make a mistake by buying online and guessing your size

You get the size you measure. The boot fitter will measure you weighted an unweighted. Then he will shell check you. This is the most inportant part to work out size. Make sure you try the boot on with some aftermarket footbeds as ft don't put any insoles in, so the fit changes allot when you add a footbed.

Overall you need to go get figured by someone decent. It may not even be a ft boot which works best.

As a very very general size guess work out your mondo size from your shoes then take two sizes off, then for a ft add one size. As you see it's very vague. Don't try to guess your size go get fitted and get some boots that fit.

eventually, any boot is going to pack out and feel a little too big. rule of thumb is about 100 ski days, and thats full ski days.

just do what above mentioned and you'll be fine. especially trying them on with a footbed

Ski boots aren't street shoes, you can't just try them on and get the ones that feel good. Well fitting boots feel tight as hell at the shop and to get a boot that's tight enough to perform well and not pack out but not be uncomfortable it needs to fit your foot shape pretty much exactly. Thats why everyone recommends going to a good boot fitter and having him/ her help you choose the boot, because its not something you can really do yourself. When you go to get fitted don't tell the boot fitter you're looking at full tilts because there's a good chance he'll sell them or a similar boot to you to make the easy sale. It may not be the color and style you want but this is skiing, not a fashion show and your boots are your most important piece of gear.
