Filing Topsheet Edges OK?

Im thinking about using a metal file to file down to edge where the topsheet and sidewall meet. Is this ok? Will this do any damage to the ski?

ha im kinda OCD and hate to look down at my skis that are all chipped up. yestarday i was on brand new chronics (skied 1 day) and by the end of the day, the tail was chipped pretty bad

no, it wont do any damage... think about it... when you chip up you ski and the top sheet maybe falls off that doesn't damage, it just looks bad. Just like your filing might do - look bad

I slighly filed mine on my walls and i think its helped them from chipping a good amount. And when they do just cut it off with a razor blade and maybe throw some epoxy on it.

It helps a lot, just don't go too far into it. Only take off a little. A little goes a long way to prevent chipping.
For everyone that says "don't cross your tips" - yea, some people have more of a problem with this than others, but anyone will chip a sidewall every once in a while.
