Figure skating...what the fuck!

i'm watching some olympic figure skating and i was wondering what the difference is between a triple lutz, a triple axle, a triple toe loop, and a triple flip is. THEY ALL LOOK THE SAME DAMNIT!

They are all just 1080s and did you see the one China Skaters pair, when the guy threw the other china lady up in the air and she went for a 1440? She hesitated and just crumpled. Her thigh, groin, knee, shin and foot, were all level with the ground. Her other leg was pretty much the same too. Then she hits the board. They got back up, and two minutes later they got bronze. It was nuts.

if they're all 1080's why do they have different names. And HOLY SHIT, did you guys see the video of the russian guy drop that chick on her face!!!!!!! HER HEAD BOUNCED!!!!!

yeah some of them you take off switch, some of them you use the toe pick, and you should shotgun beers when you see any of them or someone crashes.

I don't get why they always land switch...someone should progress it and switch 9 or something...

I could define the jumps, but that would take a long time. There IS a difference. The differences are:

-backwards or forwards take off (the axel is the only forward take off.)

-edge take off or pick take off.

-inside edge or outside edge take off.

-inside edge or outside edge pick take off.

And they are all backwards landing because there is a 1/4 inch pick sticking down from the bottom of the front of the blade, which would make landing forward very shitty.

you know, I heard that backflips are not banned, however they do not result in many additional points nor are they a required element so no one does them
