Fighting Fear

in my singnature u will see 'the only enemy against progression is fear' which is very true, i pump the tunes and dont think about the consiqueces of bailing and go for it. i was wondering what other people do to fight fear, gimme some imput, peace

i just go for it... i dunno, its nice to ski with other people or coaches or something cuz they really dont let you think about it.. the other thing, was last year id have a lot of fear around airs, and i would say to myself, 'if i dont do this now, im never gonna do it.' so i'd make myself. and also just try and relax, before comps and stuff.. just have fun and remember that fear is what's gonna keep you in the sport. its that adrenaline rush you get from fear.

Like it or not two things have helped me get over fear BUT in small quantity.

Beer(2 cups of draft), get you loose and you literally forget to be affraid.

or the POT. again forget your fears.

Once you do say a misty that way you'll relize if I can do it like this I can definately do it sober.

PS: this does not mean get stinking loaded and hurl yourself of jumps just do a little to take the edge of...... If your old enough

go out and fall on some really big jumps, and then realize that falling sucks but it's not that bad. and then you'll be ok. also, i don't get to go up skiing that much, so every time i go up i focus on progressing as much as possible, cuz if i don't go out and at least try that trick i've got in my head, i'll go home and be mad at myself for like 3 weeks until i go skiing again.

my level of radness... it just can't... be quantified.
 
I think its just natural not to be afraid of doin shiat.. but the beer and weed are some laxitives I take to loosen up my skiing and progression. Even though I've only smoked a handfull of times before skiing.

^haha, works for me too sometimes. for me, the more i think about doing it, the worse i get and the more likely i am to puss out. i just look at it for a sec and then just go for it.

dont give yourself the opturnity to second guess your hit. when your standing there ready to drop in, just do it befor you start to say things like 'ohhh i dont know if i should... if i fuck this im im going to die...maybe i should try a smaller jump... ect.' just hit it. and visulization always helps too, thinking about exactly what you have to do in the air or on the rail befor you do it. the only person who will be dissapointed if you pussy out is you. and you are usualy harder on yourself that anyone else.
