does anybody have it yet? is it sweet? none of the stores in town are getting it for at least another hour or two, it's total bullshit.

i cant wait to move out of this shit hole in december

i already know im not going to get much school work done today once i get that game, id at least like to be able to play it now that ive arrived at that conclusion
 
it looks sick, but i'm gonna wait a bit to buy it. I've spent way too much time creating my Godly Arsenal manager mode team on 08 to just stop playing with it now. Well, and i'm nowhere near any good stores that would have it.

I wanna know if they changed the freekick style, because it basically took me a year to learn how to score on them maybe 3/5 times. And if zidane is finally on the classic XI team. That team has been terrible lately, i mean, it doesn't have any of the truly legendary players. (maradona, zidane, platini, etc etc)
 
I'm stoked for it. I'll probably pick it up this weekend.

Any Idea if they actually put Celtic Park or Ibrox in the game for once? Or at least any more english parks?
 
i have the 09 demo and freekicks are the same for sure

check the fifa 09 wikipedia page, it's got a huge list of the teams and stadiums

everyone on our campus is freaking out because none of the stores have gotten it in town yet, all the UPS trucks were delayed for columbus day or something stupid like that

we might drive like 45 minutes just to get it tonight
 
Yeah. I checked out the wiki page, and they just added hella stadiums to the random list, rather than updating the real stadiums list, for whatever reason.

I wonder if they updated the crowd chants too.. haha -you'll never walk alone- would be the coolest thing to hear during the stadium introduction for Celtic and Liverpool..
 
is it gonna be THAT different from 08? i spent 40 bucks on 08, created an epic franchise, and now should i lose all that and spend another 60 for a very similar game? convince me...
if it's like nhl 09 with one handed dekes and lifting sticks on defense then it's worth it but it doesn't seem too too different
 
it has a much better, and natural feel when you're playing with the ball. you feel much more in control of your movements. There are also more stadiums, and more leagues with more teams. They have russian teams in it this time too, which is awesome, because thats where a lot of the younger talent is right now.

Any word on if they have the dutch team in international teams? I'd be pissed off if they gave them the boot for the 6th year in a row....
 
there are some new features, but overall i'd say unless you really really want the new kits/sponsors, i'd say stay with 08 for a bit longer. Well, and there are the new rosters, but i've altered my Arsenal team so much that i almost wouldn't want to get the new ones. It looks like they added a ton of generic stadiums, which i suppose is better than before when most leagues only had 2-4 real ones.

Anyone know what jersey the French national team has? They've changed it like 3 times since the ones they have in fifa 08
 
yah fuckload of new features and updates, fo realz. the characters are a lot sweeter looking, and the graphics and animations are even more fluid than ever.

the AI is the one thing that's gotten a huge boost as well. i used to go absolutely crazy when defenders would just stand and watch an attacking player run by, or when an attacker would have one of his shots saved and not react at all to the rebound...that shit has been substantially improved, finally, since it's been going on for as long as i can remember

as for the dutch team, i have no fucking idea why the always do this, but the international team is almost entirely made-up. like, obviously the players exist in the game, but the default international team is always fictional characters.

they're one of my favorite int'l teams to play with though, so i always go in when i get the game and just do all the international selections manually, then save my rosters for it.

we're not going to drive to find it, hopefully it arrives someplace in town tomorrow
 
FIFA '09 is so worth it! The game play is crazy. Graphics are much better, and the big name players all have their own quirks.

ive been playing fifa for 2 days straight now, and i have some work to do, so i wont be able to play every night until like december.
 
I've been playing around with the demo and it's honestly not that much better than 08. Not enough for me to pay 60$ for it that's for sure. Besides, they need to take out the Scouse and those dirty twats from Manchester, they have no place in that game.
 
honestly, when i was playing the demo i was thinking the same thing...
BUT im a 4.5 year senior and i dont graduate until december. about half my friends have graduated, and they ALL play fifa, and about half the people i hang out with who havent graduated are all soccer players, so they play all the time. you KNOW they're all gonna get it, and i want to be able to play online with all of them, especially when i move out west in a couple months.
also, AT&T just sent me an $80 rebate in the form of a debit card, which means it's a sunk cost since i cant put it in my bank account. that basically spelled FREE FIFA, so i just went ahead and pulled the trigger the other day.
that said, the game is sick, and totally worth it...ive only stopped playing to do some school work or to play ACTUAL soccer in the awesome weather we're having right now.
