Fifa 09 or 10

right now i can get 09 on ebay for like 15$ and then 10 is going for about 40$ .... is there really a huge difference ?
 
i was just recently thinking the same thing. i dont watch soccer really at all but i actually like playing the games. I have slight ideas of who all the big euro stars play for but I dont really follow it.

Would it make much difference between the games for me?

I just want a good game I can have fun playing seasons and stuff
 
Fifa 09 was not a disappointing game but it was sub par especially considering how good 08 was. Haven't played 10 yet but i hear it was really good. If you just want 09 i have a copy id get rid. But if i was in your shoes i would go with 10 based off of what i've been told
 
i love soccer, watching soccer, and playing soccer video games and fifa 10 is hands down the best but it is also fun to remember back in the days of PS2 or even PS1 soccer games were you could shoot from half and score, side-tackle the goalie, and turn off foals and just shit on people. good times, good times
 
FIFA 10 no question, I've only gotten to play it a little but it's definitely worth it. Basically they rebuilt the physics of the game. Players now can gain advantages based on their size (doesn't sound like much but in game it's a great feature), you actually have to weight your passes now (harder than before but more precise when you get the hang of it), the players have better and more realistic ball control, and best of all they fixed the thing that drove me crazy about FIFA games for so long, off the ball runs. This aspect of the game still isn't perfect but now you at least have the ability to change a players direction mid run. Then there's also the new Virtual Pro mode, more in depth manager mode and online leagues that are supposed to be really sick.
I would try downloading the demo and you'll see that FIFA 10 is way ahead of its predecessors in terms of actual play.
 
FIFA 10 HANDS DOWN. it was 905 of the reason why i got my ps3. that game is cream in your pants amazing. i think everyone has said just about everything that is awesome in this thread already so i am not going to repeat everyone, but it is fucking amazing.

FIFA 1O is the SHIT! My favorite game so far. I get so into I start yelling at the TV. HAHA!

Then my second fave is the COD:MW2. OMG! LOVE IT!

ok so i strongly agree that 09 and 10 are so similar in so many ways but i am going to have to go with fifa 09 is the better game and this is why:

Fifa 10 there is like a forumla to win. obviously like every game there is but in fifa 10 there is like one way to win and if you master it you are the best. there are two ways to score. chipping the keeper. and playing the ball into the box drawing the keeper out and putting it away. if the keeper is in and you shoot from anywhere 95% of the time the keeper saves it. and dont tell me its because i suck, because im not bad and i have played some good kids and some of my friends are like really good. dont get me wrong fifa 10 is fun it is just too like idk how to put it. 'robotic'? also like if you drop your d way back its impossible to score. impossssible. free kicks are way harder too. also the keeper comes out when you dont want him to and gets chipped every time AND the passes NEVER go to the right guy. these are just my thoughts on 10. anyone else?

fifa10 is realistic. Shots from way out rarely go in in real life, so why should they in fifa? And its not like the scoring thing is any different. I've played quite a few of the fifa series, and they ALL have some stupid trick or glitch which enables you to score easily. In 09 all you had to do was send a player on a run, then do a chipped through ball up over the defense straight to him. 10 is more realistic, since keepers do actually charge like that when its 1v1, just not realistic because players don't usually have the time to chip. Freekicks are much easier in 10 because you can actually practice them. I think i've already put in more in 10 than i did in 08 and 09 combined.

As for passes never going to the right guy....well, i'd say thats your playing doing that. It's harder, but better because you can do more with passing. Not like before where a pass was almost guaranteed to go to your player.

fifa10 is better. by far.
 
seriously? i score 80% of the time from laces shots outside the 18.

i will agree with you that if you finesse inside the box, its a goal.

you can just tap yy and get the keeper back, no chip goal.

chip goals are questionable, i would rather just finesse to the corner then risk the keeper making an crazy ass save (which they always do on chips)
 
That's completely realistic though.
I'll say it again, just download the demo. Anyone who thinks FIFA 10 is worse than it's predecessors either sucks or has never played soccer in their life.
