Few intro park questions

First year I've started hitting park. I'm currently at keystone on a trip (from Virginia). Threw my first front flip off a cornice and learned a 360 and 540 this week. Anyways,

How do you guys improve your pop off the jumps, at what point do you jump? What body motions do you go through?

How tight do you wear your boots? I usually wear them kind of loose, but I started working on my butters and it works a lot better when the boots are very tight.

How do you guys manage to not be constantly hurt/sore after riding park. After a couple hours in the park I am normally pretty banged up from rails and hardpack. I even wore some padded shorts but it didn't seem to help much.

stretch, wear your boots tight & honestly youll get used to it, and as u get better youll fall less.

1) Pop: This isn't something I've focused on until recently since I'm pretty much a rail junky. But I just remember all the times I had to leave early because of shin-bang due to the fact that I wasn't popping and landing really back seat on even small jumps.

I usually take 1-3 runs at the beginning of the day popping harder than I normally would for straight airs and practicing some of my grabs. Then, when it's time to spin, I just go through my mental checklist before dropping:

1: Set

2: Pop

3: Spot the landing

Just try to keep it simple before dropping, too many thoughts will freeze you up on the lip.

2) How tight are you supposed to wear your boots? Tight.

If they hurt, go to a bootfitter, and if you don't have one, try your local shop.

3) This season has been awesome, only one or two times I had to take breaks off from skiing because of injuries. But in all honesty, it's just something that happens to everyone, especially in the first few years of learning. If you're trying to progress, chances are you'll take a couple falls that day.

Falling will happen, but trust me, you'll get better at it as time goes on.

To increase your pop off of jumps, hold space bar prior to going up the lip, then right as you are about to launch into the air, (about 3 feet before end of lip) release space bar. If you keep practicing this technique, you'll be pro in no time, you may even be able to do some grab combos using the A,Z,X,S,D,C,F,B,D keys on your key board.
