Also, so many upcoming shows I couldn't afford to go to brooklyn.

if you guys are ever thinking about doing something in brooklyn/manhattan definitely keep me posted.

also, I know there's not many house and techno fans here, but tonight Joris Voorn is playing output open to close, and Dixon is playing a blkmarket party. if you know about these guys then you realize how lucky nyc is to have big names like this almost every weekend

now if I could just convince my friends to do string cheese -> output -> blkmarket and be able to hear 12+ hours of good music

Yo I decided last minute last Friday to check out a blkmarket party in Brooklyn. It was a Guy Gerber extended set. It was great. That won't be my last time doing a secret warehouse party now that I know they exist so I'll def let you know the next time I go. I'm eyeing one on December 4th, Bill Patrick and Tini. I've checked out their sets and I'm liking what I'm hearing

DUDE YES!! I love Guy Gerber and heard good things about that night. I was working Saturday tho so wouldn't have been able to make it anyway. Glad you enjoyed it.

Bill Patrick and Tini are awesome as well. They play together a lot and each have good taste from what I've listened to. You should consider Time Warp in Brooklyn November 20-21. I went both nights last year and it was killer so I plan on doing at least one night again this year.

Selling a ticket to Snowglobe in South Lake Tahoe, looks like a killer time and i wish i could go still, bought tickets with my girlfriend at the time, but she has since dumped me and im no longer going. Paid $199 total including fees, got an offer so far for $180, but if anyone here on NS is interested hit me up!!! its in tahoe

Just got tix for moe.s 2 night run at the cap november 13-14th. stoked! haven't seen them since last spring in binghamton. Killer show that one was..whoowee

string cheese was a lot of fun friday. probably would've gone back saturday if I wasn't working.

the theater at msg was pretty cool too I'd see another show there. wish I was on the floor but the seats were still great and cheaper

Will do, def leaning towards Friday.

Just got back from seeing The Green and Iration. Cool venue and good music, but lame security killed the vibe a little. It's 2015, how are you throwing people out for smoking?

where else do you guys discuss music? i have a bunch of local nh vt ma jam bands kick ass rock grass and funk id like to share and discover more from around the country.

moe. tonight at the Cap. Possibly tomorrow too!

This guy will be there. I'll be rocking a gray sweater with elbow patches and a white hat covered in pins lets meet up and crunch out

1 week countdown to RL Grime/Gessafelstein/Cashmere Cat/Mija/Deorro and others

on a festival related note, a girl at my house the other night said after going to EDC she refuses to go to shows now that aren't at crazy venues... i was really close to hitting her in the face for being a concert twat

moe. was on fire this weekend! They also just announced a 3-day NYC run in March that I am excited af about! This also means I think we will skip out on the New Years run in Albany any perhaps check out the biscuits for a night in NYC

post festival sadness... NGHTMRE, RL Grime and mija all fucking killed it. waiting to get my disposables back but heres a shitty iPhone pic of the trap god himself. posted about 10 feet from the edge of the stage

Def see PPPP

We didn't make it up there. Bummed about that but spent all of sunday hiking the catskills instead. I really wish there was a venue to see shows like the putnam den or the hollow closer to Sullivan County, NY.

We were highly considering Twiddle in the city for either tonight or manana but not sure. The other option is Pigeons Playing Ping Pong tomorrow with aqueous in Saratoga. Hmmm decisions, decisions....

And then there is this!! ADK CHILL??
http://nysmusic.com/2015/12/04/catskill-chill-could-move-to-lake-george/

I don't know the guys from ppp but they seem like good dudes, and I've seen them a few times, not a bad time at all.

The dudes from aqueous are super legit guys and a good time as well.

I need to make it to some shows in saratoga this winter.

Was going to go down to pink talking phish but I was tired as fuck after work and went down for dso the next night.

I'm only 25 min from the den i think now. Hoping some more shows come through gfalls. Mister f just played gugs but I missed it to get down to NYC to catch a flight.

Check them out btw if you haven't heard of them. Fairly new band but they're making some moves and they've got some ridiculous marketing skills in addition to being tight as hell and all around good dudes.

Line ups are starting to roll out. I'd be at ML regardless of the line up but here is phase 1:

i saw ODESZA and Tchami on New Years Eve... ODESZA is easily on of the best performances i've seen live hands down. Tchami played a great set too

obviously I'd like to see more names I'm interested in but not bad for phase 1 for a large festival. Digweed is great and glad to see lee burridge as well.

they had a pretty solid techno and house lineup last year I'm pretty sure so hopefully that continues

I know, I'm hoping to see more house and techno too. It's apparent that ML dropped this line up to get back interest in their direction because last years attendance was so shitty. Good thing ML is so fun and local to me or else I'd spend my money elsewhere haha.

haha I hear ya I'm almost certainly down to go even if the rest of the lineup doesn't blow me away. I wonder if verboten will still be curating a stage this year because there's been rumors about fraud and mismanagement so it'll be interesting to see what happens.

anyone heading to Lotus at terminal 5 february 6?

I'm curious too on who will be the curators. Especially with ML looking like it's shifting directions with the line up, but what do I know haha

I bought Bisco tickets last night! Fuck yeah

Just got my Bisco tickets too! I can not wait to chill in the lazy river with a joint

this year, I am going to Werk Out in Ohio for sure. Trying to get to Summercamp as well. anyone else fux with the Werks?

Both of those are fun festivals. The werkout is a fun size. I'm sure it's grown a bit since I last went, but still a smaller to mid range fest. Scamp is great.

Get there early for summercamp to get a spot in the woods, and I mean EARLY. Also probably the only festival where VIP is seriously worth considering. There is no car camping and it's something like 25-30k people. The line going through security is like a refugee camp.

Bringing a wagon will make you hate life less. Getting a spot in the woods is clutch if it's a hot one. Be prepared for mud, it's pretty common there. Heavy, heavy UC presence so be careful. Also get there we night if you can. Thursday late morning and all weekend the police operations go into effect on the highways trying to ticket as many people as possible for $$$.

If you're sober in the day, there's a carls JR right down the road. You can charge your phone, sit in ac, wifi, and eat some food/save money. Then swing by the CVS, stock back up on beer, cigs etc.

Also you aren't allowed to bring in beer. Obviously everyone does, but you have to hide it. Most of the time this isn't that hard, but it helps to be mildly creative. One good way is bringing several 12 packs of soda, and filling them with beer and sealing them. Also havng water bottles full of clear liquor as a backup is nice. They sell beer inside, and it's really not horribly priced for the 12 packs, but you'll be paying 2-2.50 a beer on those so if it's a budget breaker, make sure to bring some in.

No wristband check inside so you can walk freely with your beer anywhere inside.

I do hate that they started playing womp music in the day. They have bluegrass acts on a stage that faces where they put the dj tent, and they've scheduled sets over each other the last year or two. It sucks trying to here a bluegrass band with DJ nobody cares who he is but the bass is loud, blasting at noon.

The werkout is great, obviously be careful in Ohio but I found the actual festival pretty mellow. Almost went back this year but I think I was on phish tour then. I never really got into the werks but they're good.

Hit both if you can. Also for scamp buy your ticket as early as possible. It's a pretty solid deal if you go early but it only goes up. The late night acts are separately ticketed and DO sell out. If you want to get in, buy that in the onsale. Sometimes there are still some at the fest the day of the show and right before they re release a few, but it's nice to have it settled and no worries. I have gotten many people in with fake wristbands and cutting off, re attaching ones, but there are no guarantees. Late night tickets are 25 ish but like 30 online. Def buy it online if your have the option. I believe they put the wristband on you, so if you buy 2, you have to bring your friend with you to get there's put on.

Wristbands changed from the paper ones to the plastic ones. with the holes. Also worst case, a $20 can go a long ways sometimes at the security checkpoint. The problem is the fest is over 25k and the barn capacity is 2k maybe. The good part is they can have music and some of the latenights are co bills so you have music from 1 am, to 4 or 5 am.

Also the campfire stage right there is rad as fuck, they'll usually have a bluegrass band playing latenight if you don't get in, you can also stand near the doors and see the show.

Bring an extra pair of shoes, and a bunch of extra socks for potential shit weather, a poncho or two isn't a bad idea, even an umbrella. Scamp is generally plagued with shit weather. One year it rained so hard they canceled the festival mid last night. The moe. stage was under 4 feet of water, etc. It was fucking nuts. The stage moe, plays is generally pretty good, sand and grass. The stage umpheys plays will be a mudfield if their is any good rain before hand.

As per usual, watch your speed on the drives, pack your car as low as possible, don't right stupid shit on your windows, and have a good time when you get there.

Anyody hitting the Governors Ball in NYC?? Headed down there with some buddies from the west coast. Will be my first experience east of Montana lol.

Also, anybody got any advice on where to stay? Was thinking AirBnB would rather not stay in a hotel.

for NYC go Airbnb for sure. I got one last year for a moe. run and our room was $115 a night and had a balcony and roof access. Great for smoking and chilling during the day! For a hotel that chill you would have to dish out a lot more. Also the airbnb is so much more flexible with location.
