Yea your area making tons of revenue and tax dollars is so annoying! I hate when other people have fun! I hate when restaurants, hotels, stores and taxi's etc make a killing! :)

Triple posting because this is my favorite NSG thread... Kings of leon cancelled Saturday's show due to a bus accident and the drummer broke his ribs :/ I became a huge fan of KOL when I was underway on a sub in the navy so their songs always have this amazing effect on me. Hopefully he gets well soon and heads to lower NY again. Just not NYC because it will be crazy expensive.

.down is so soon I'm stoked! Any other NSers headed to Turin? Catskill chill the week after! And then moe. sept 27th in Bridgeport, CT!

Shambhala was fun, did anyone else on here go?

I go every year. This year was the best in a while in my opinion. I finally clued into myself and didn't even touch MDMA or any amphetamine over the weekend and holy shit. Pagoda was the biggest mind trip while peaking on LSD during moby. I wasn't even supposed to watch but it sucked me in while on the way to fractal for griz. Moby surprised me for sure. I'm not sure what my favourite set of the weekend was, all I know is that it was in the village. Hard to beat anything in the village - place is off the chains.

Also, I finally made it to fractal for a neighbour sunrise set and that put a huge smile on my face and get the feet moving more than anyone else over the weekend.

At the Hudson project a few weeks ago Griz and Moby were back to back and it blew my mind

saw waka Flocka Asap Ferg adventure club, kaskade, bassnectar, and two days of sick people at moonrise festival in md

Was going to post "In the navy" but too lazy.

You gotta meet my buddy phil sometime. I think he's in the guam or somewhere now but he's a big moe. ron. funny dude. In the navy though. I guess the navy is huge so maybe it's not that cool but your post made me think of him.

I had a buddy in the navy who introduced me to moe. and at the time I was like this is good but it was a live version and I wanted more lyrics. It was the song Nebraska I still remember that. It wasn't to a few years later I saw a moe.down flyer at mtn jam that it clicked to check them out again. I've been hooked since. Then, I ran into my buddy from the navy at the last PA show and it was fun talking to him and he didn't remember introducing me to them. He had al do an al.noucement for his 75th show. Good times

Really. Moby......

I was under the mentality that moby was a waste of money and the event organizers were crazy for bringing him in. I had no intention of watching his set at all, but as I said - while walking to griz I had to pass by the stage he was playing at and i got sucked in. The set was pretty killer, a little on the mainstream side of things, but he killed it.

I recommend checking out a dj set of his in person and finding out for yourself. Might not be hoodrat worthy but its fun :)

before I saw moby I only knew him from an awkward music video in the early 2000s and that one eminem lyrics that says something moby and nobody listens to techno.. whatever it is. Not going to lie that put a sour taste in my mouth for years in reference to moby. However, seeing him at mysteryland (my first edm festival) it changed my life. Not moby in particular, the whole festival was amazing. Moby was just an awesome set that stood out. Then, moby at THP was the perfect nightcap after griz killed it. Plus it was in a overfull circus tent with so many positive vibes...

Shamb was insane. First year there, definitely be back. I spent a lot of time at the Grove as I was camping with the Grove crew. I really liked the living room at sunrise. The village was pretty off the hook all the time, even at 5am after leaving the living room and fractal forrest was pretty crazy too.

Oh and By chance did anyone get a wheelbarrow of drugs? It was me if you did..

not sure if they still do stuff but jambase used to do contests all the time. You can just click enter on everything and enter all the fests and also enter for shows in your region and everything. Also good for finding shows in different areas you can search by city zip state country or whatever. Used to use it all the time when I was starting to go to a bunch of stuff but now I don't really go on there. Hear about everything I want to hit from other things

anyong going to FYF Festival at the LA Sports Arena next weekend?

I'll be working it. Would be cool to have a drink and enjoy some music with fellow NS'er.

I've been on the grind entering all the contest I can to go. If I didn't have a m-f 9-5 job I would volunteer...

Just seeing all the things about facial recognition software used in in MA at a fest. Honestly pretty sure it's been used other places, if not it will be. That's the route things are going. Wouldn't be surprised if those cameras were set up on shakedown at fests and shows in the next 5-10 years.

Lame shit.

On the other side, with the RAVE act and other shit, Schwaggstock getting shutdown and the land being stolen by the govt etc I'm kind of surprised that fests are still raging as hard as they are. Hopefully they keep going strong. Idk what I'd do without them

Where did you see stuff about facial recognition? The Hudson Project definitely had cameras and microphones. Crazy shit.

Moby is a legend in the scene though. Would rather see him again than some of these new dildos in the dubstep train

Are you sure the mics weren't taper rigs? Like stands in the ground with a couple mics up above the crowd to tape the sets? And word that's sketch on the cameras. Idk saw stuff on faceberk and other spots.

There was cameras on the running generator lights. I couldn't find any pictures

Sketchy shit. Check out wakarusa at the old spot, I never went till it moved but 07 I think it was was super sketch. Also the whole schwaggstock fest thing. Shady stuff. The waka one is a fucking wild story though. Like unbelievable.

I went to Fuji Rock a couple of weeks ago

FRF14_FINAL_POSTER_fix%20(1).jpg

It's held at a ski resort about 2 hours from Tokyo. The lineup wasn't bad, a mix of Japanese and Western acts. The location is stunning, right in the mountains with the stages surrounded by forests. And the place is so clean and well ordered for a festival. I'm definitely going back next year.

just picked up my bella terra tickets (saturday only)... stoked to see craze and araab b2b, and keys and krates.

How was it??

1 moe. day of work and sleep tonight then of to get .down!!!!! I am not going to be able to sleep tonight

Not a good year for burning man so far this year. The rain, from what I've seen a lot of negative press and peoples blogs about 'burning man loosing itself' and now the death.

She was from Jackson, Wyoming so if it's hitting home to anyone on here, vibes.

On a totally different note: Had a really weird and vivid dream last night where I went to edc New York. Avicii stopped playing during his set at one point because I wasn't into his set and went only phone. He wouldn't start up again till I put my phone away. Whatever the hell that means. Haha.

Yeah I went to that. I swear it feels more and more crowded every year even though it's not. But the crowd was awesome and the weather was nice so I thought it was great

It was super fun but way less people than I expected... Keys and Krates packed out the little tent they were in, which was awesome, but Araab and Craze didn't really get as big of a crowd as I thought they would. Overall a pretty crazy time and got me stoked on going to more festivals

Going to attempt coachelle, saskquatch, pemberton, and squamish festivals this year. Pemberton is 100%. Hopefully can save enough for coachella.

Never been to Squamish festival but if you like electronic at all and love good vibes, switch Squamish for shambhala (assuming they are at the same time again).

, coachella, Sasquatch, pemberton, shambhala would make for a killer summer. If you could throw a trip to black rock city in there as well it'd be one for the books.

only fest i made this year was shambs. first time and it was off the hook! definitely going back next year.

also i have a tomorrowworld ticket to sell if anyone is interested

Shout out to Xfest and everyone that made it happen this year in Calgary. It was just nuts.

Couldn't believe the fan base for some of those Canadian acts (especially Tegan and Sara, but Calgary is their hometown).

It got wild there Sunday night, and Arctic Monkeys killed it, beat out any of the acts I saw at Coachella this year.

Got Mad Decent Block Party coming up on Friday, just to change up the music scene.

Went to squamish fest and it was unreal! the electronic dance stage was amazing and closing the festival was Eminem and that was a dream come true
