anyone headed to moonrise? wasn't going to go but Hudson was such a fucking bust that I just bought a pass

Sunday night was a bust at THP, but I had such a fucking blast Friday and Saturday. Sunday was fun too getting wasted during the storms. It was a creepy feeling waking up Monday morning to a war zone though. I'd go next year for sure.

Next for me is moe. the 18th and 19th and then again at vibes on that Sunday. Dispatch also playing vibes and I'm stoked!

metric takes the cake for show of the day. gotta do the full festival next year.

just got back as well it was awesome, my lame ass friends/ ride back have work in the morning so i didn't get to see modest or frank ocean, but otherwise a sick weekend

Pitchfork was amazing. Neutral Milk Hotel, St Vincent, Kendrick, The Haxan Cloak, and Giorgio all killed it really stood out to me, but I was impressed with almost all of the acts I saw. Looking forward to coming back next year and giving my lungs a break from an absolutely excessive amount of smoking.

Anybody going to catskill chill? We're going to check that festival our this year. Back to back weeks with moe.down but they are both on the more affordable side.

anybody doing squamish? considering buying a late ticket

Want to, but I have an exam on the 8th and 9th and would rather put the cost of day ticket to a full ticket for a festival next year

Me and benedetto going to be there Sunday.. Mainly for moe. and dispatch but can't wait to kick it there all day

where are you two from? I feel like we've been in the same place many, many times

Damn wish I would have saw this prior the Hudson Project! It's such a shame that Sunday got cancelled due to rain...Was so upset that bassnectar didn't end up playing. Besides that everyone else threw down so hard. Griz, Big Gigantic, Atomosphere, STS9, The floozies, Rebelution! Such a great weekend. Too bad it probably won't happen again next year, but at least they are bringing back bisco! Bisco '15 will be epic

Never been but only heard great things about it. Keep a look out for me at vibes. I'll probably be jammin out in a green jiberish five panel with a winterland rose pin on it!

Wurtsboro, NY. In Sullivan county. It's 90 mins Northwest of NYC and ~2 hours south of Albany.

apparently both bisco and hudson are happening next year, I made a couple formal complaints and they replied every time with something along the lines of, "thank you for your feedback, we will take this into serious account when planning next year's event." I'm going to start saving now for the forest, hudson, bisco, and vibes.

The chill is an amazing festival! def go. One of the best out there. I hope they don't book too much electronic but I can handle some of it.

Great fest, dude that puts it on is a good dude. Did the first 3. Skipped last year for lock'n.

Get your tickets in advance. Fest grew fast from round 1k the first year to selling out at 5k the third. I believe it's still capped at that. Def don't wanna get shut out.

Lives up to its name though. Super chill.

Nice man and good call, I'm gonna buy them next paycheck because they talk about 5k being the cap. Then, I'm buying moe.down the following paycheck since it won't sell out. The price is going up for .down soon but I definitely don't want to miss chill. I love the catskills and the area is amazing! I can't wait.

Another goo thing about the chill "Good or bad in some aspects" is that all stages are inside or pavilioned. Even if there is rain and mud you'll stay dry at the music. Makes it tough at main stage now as you can't fit any more people in there but it's all good. There's 2 stages in the middle side by side, a small building with some shows, another small building with open mic and shows, fikus and schwizz usually run a party out of a cabin.

IT's awesome. You're right, moe.down 100% won't sell out. 2008 was 4 times as big as last year and even that wasn't sold out as far as I know. Hopefully it's bigger than last year. Lineup looks like a blast. Rage the ditch for me.

Can't believe I'm missing it this year. Honestly there's probably a 10 percent chance I'll just fly back and show up to rage for that. Would def come back for vibes if it was later.

I tried to get moe to play the chill for years but with moedown they won't ever be able to book them because of the radius. Sucks cause that would make the chill epic.

Idk man, rage that shit. Hope your summer is going well.

i dunno man, when it started raining during Deadmau5 at pemby last week, that was one of the most epic moments of the festival for me. maybe it was the 5 pills i had in me at that point and the much needed cool down that came with it, maybe it was the light show reflecting off the rain drops as they came down, or just the fact that i've never seen a more hyped crowd still growing with the rain coming down. but the rain definitely made it better.

to each their own though. i grew up in one of the rainiest cities in north america so I've grown used to it.

Middle of the summer the rain is fun! 2 weekends ago at the hudson project when it rained was some of the most fun i've had. However, the catskills can get pretty chilly, especially in september. The low is in the 40s tonight for example. I see from where you're from so you can attest that cold rain is no fun.

If you're talking rolls. If you need to take 5 to get off you need to find better shit or stuff eating so many dr00gs everyday.

Second yes it's awesome when there's a light rain falling to refresh you in the crowd. That said it fucking blows when stage areas are completely fucked with weather. Also when stages are getting rained on or under water. Rain is cool, but tons of mud isn't that exciting. I been at mudded out fests. I've made the best of it had fun in it. But shows getting delayed, or canceled isn't that sick. Summercamp last year the main stage was under 3 feet of water. The other main stage got shut down because of sideways rain.

Yeah rain is cool sometimes but it's refreshing to have a fest that will be good rain or shine.

The chill in 2011 i think was the year parts of binghamton were under 10 or so feet of water. I love outdoor shows, It's great but it's nice to have something else mixed in. Shade from the sun and shelter from the storms.

/things and stuff

after bumping m for 3 days straight tomorrow is gunna be fucking depressing. COG was sick af tho

Anyone going to any days of Lake Champlain Maritime Fest? Aug 7 is Umphrey's McGee on the Burlington waterfront. Will be sick, and I'll be there.

Anybody gonna be at peach? I'm planning on heading up bright and early thursday should have plenty of room under the ol' canopy if anyone feels like hanging out for a bit i'll have a brown tent and a fat red dead tapestry.

A dead tapestry at peach fest. That shouldnt be hard to spot.

Also I still can't believe eGladveryone on here only went to vibes for sunday. Seriously one of the best lineups of the decade. I know I've said that like 15 times in here but FUCK that lineup was stacked to the top and overflowing with the best of the best. I just hope hat scamp and waka ware raging next year. I need to get a big 4 day music fest in my life asap.

Also the moe. setlist loos kind of meh. I know you can't always judge by how it looks on papaer but I wasn't there so that's what I'm going off. Then again it was a day set so I guess it could have been decent.

Hopingfor some nov/dec shows. Also thinking of flying back for phish/moe. halloween in vegas.

moe. was good. Not incredible, but good. It was a nice daytime set. Um into panic into biscuits with bill and mickey saturday though... Faces were melted.

I enjoyed the moe. set a lot. The weather was perfect, I had a nice buzz, with great friends and everybody was real chill. Going into a day set I wasn't expecting to rock out like 2 weeks ago in PA or a late night set. It was real chill. I saw a lot of negativity on line from .rons (or just trolls in the fb book) and they just seem jaded. Lots of people commenting on how below average the set seemed or how moe. deserves a 2pm spot with a set like that. People are entitled to their opinions but they are just so arrogant about it. I say relax and have a good time! It wasn't their show, they had a timeslot at a festival.

Something needs to be said about the security at vibes versus the Hudson Project, Mysteryland and mountain jam. It was so relaxed and the overall vibe was awesome. They only briefly searched bag and no pat downs and everybody survived ok. Vibes really shows what a festival in 2014 could be and I see myself returning to vibes every year I can.

I fucking bet. God damn everyone. I really wish I had just pulled the trigger and gone. Seemed worth the 2k it would have cost me and I bet it delivered.

What pa show did you hit? The sherman? A lot of times people commenting really do love the bands. I try to keep my negative shit off facebook and to PT and shit but whatever. IF you see a bunch of good shows and you're stoked for one and it's not that good you're kind like fuck. But you're still ready to rage the next one.

I'm hoping for some november/dec dates. I've only seen 6 moe. shows in the last year. I need to get down. That said I'm probably going for phish or biscuits for nye. Maybe even working in the end of umphs late nye run.

And I'm not really surprised would have been more if you were going in for camping but those other types of fests generally have more of the one off show type of security. Also with elctronic these days there's extra liability and security has been cracking down.

Mtn jam has pretty shit security though. Fuck that place.
