Couple of questions for anyone near fernie...

1) When do the lifts close in the spring?

2) Which are the nearest airports?

3) Whats the easiest way to get there from the airports?

My friend's bumming a season over there and I'm hoping to visit for a week or two at the end of the European season.....I'll be stone cold broke and need to save now for travel and lift pass.
 
not sure about number 1 but

fernie is stuck in the stone age...im gonna say the nearest airport is in calgary.

and prolly a greyhound bus or something if they even go there.

Calgary International Airport (3.5 hour drive) is serviced from most major North American and European cities.

Cranbrook B.C. (1.25 hour drive) is accessible by regional air service of Air Canada Jazz and Pacific Coast Airlines.

Kalispell, Montana (2 hour drive) is accessible by Delta and Northwest Airlines.

Hmmm not at all? My friends are bumming the season there, and the apartments are all for until april may time....
 
its open in the spring prolly till sometime in april...mountain biking wont start until all the snows gone and that takes a while, prolly not till late june but skiing id say untill mid april, check the regional forums
 
i live in kimberley. halfway between kimbo and cranbrook theres a very small airport- its called the cranbrook airport;)-from cranbrook is about an hour to an hour and half drive to fernie and it closes in april sometime.
 
closest international airport would be in calgary, but its only about a 3 hour drive away, and the season there ends around late april
