Fernie!

Heading up there in mid-february for my reading week. First time in Fernie. I'm going up there with family, who can't ski worth shit so I'll probably be riding solo most of the time.

Any tips on where some good spots are to hit up? Drops, the deepest of the deep stuff, whatever. If anyone will be up there who knows their way around Fernie let me know, i'd be really appreciative to just tag along one day if you could show me some things because I'll be totally lost.

haha im in fernie all season, its my second season there,

its fooking dope when you know the places to check oot

Corner pocket on a powder dauy is sick

yeah and thats my problem. Sick when you know the good spots.. but I don't know of any! if you're up there riding feb 10-17 or so, let me know

look at the trail map, if it's on a ridge, it's sick, if it's in the bowls its flatter but still sick.

you can't go wrong in fernie.

ps. the further you go, the better it gets.

I'll be up in fernie a lot this season, so i'll give you a heads up if I'm gonna be there on those days. anyone hear anything about fernie suposedly expanding into island lake lodge terrain? or is that just a crazy and untrue rumour?

i'll be heading back there in January for the rest of the season, so i'd be up from some shredding. Hey Steve we should go shred some time this season. I'll be out of the park this time so the BC is looking inviting.

And as far as i know the resort is going to expand, but in a few years or so i guess.

heeheeeheee i tried a 180 on my first hit on this fair sized step-up and overshot and ended up doing a cork five on to my back and getting knocked out.good times GOOD TIMES

Good news, for me anyway. Moving back in a few weeks, soooo stoked!!!! Pumped for riding.....yeeeeew!!!

less than two weeks till i get to fly out there! yay!

How's the conditions right now anyway? I've been checking snow reports, seems they have quite a bit of snow.

Hopefully i'll never need to go into the park for any reason, but hows it looking this year?

I will be out in Fernie from around March 8th untill the beginning of april probably. anyone who lives there with a couch or a floor it would be awesome if i could crash there for a night or two. I am hopefully getting a job instructing at fernie and I am also signed up for the freeski comp so anyone involved in that stuff let me know. i will prolly crash at the hostel for the odd night but i will be with my buddy and we will be on a tight budget.

how's the bud situation in fernie? me and a couple boys are heading up over reading week too...anyone got a hook up?

I was at Fernie on Saturday....it was actually decent. Lotsa crud, though. You really had to hike to get to the good good stuff. It was hovering around 0C all day, so the snow was pretty heavy by the end. They had a pretty nice crust (ice) layer about 7 or 8 cms under the top of the snow. They apparently got pissed on last night, so it should be better....hopefully. If you aren't in the know, check out this site for the REAL fernie conditions. The conditions reported by FERNIE ALPINE RESORT are always B.S.

flying out to calgary tomorrow, i cant wait! I'll be skiing saturday afternoon till the next saturday - every day in the week most likely.

If you see a guy with a brown pinstripe pants and jacket with k2 pistols, its me (sean). dont hesitate to say hi, it'd be wicked if someone to showed me a few good runs.

Anybody want to buy a couple day passes to Fernie?? Won them last summer, maybe like $55(USD) for two plus shipping (will belike $2), thats is cheaper than two for one.
