Fernie Update

For anyone who cares, we have a 300cm base at the top. Whitepass is absolutley awesome with sick snow and wicked natural hits. Currie, Lizard and Cedar are still closed because of avalanches.

In the park we have our rails buried by about 6ft of snow, but i'm more than likley going to dig them out tommorow. We have 4 tables up now, 1st 40ft, 2nd 30ft step up, 3rd 50ft, 4th big step up. Apparently tomorow there will be a break in the weather, so the park should be open.

Sick here now check it out!!!

That's awsome, cant wait to get there on friday now, dependings on the conditions (ie frsh pow) i may to have a welcome sesh on the park all day saturday maybe.

yeeah, but i suck.

Oh yeah,

one quick question, what rail's are up, i think ive seen a down flat, and a flat down, anything else?

I'll be up there friday and saturday. I've got three actions shots due in 2 weeks for my photography class, so if anyone's interested, i'll have my camera up there and i'm looking for anyone to shoot while i'm up there since none of my friends can make it up with me.

Urrm i'll be there, but be my first session out of the UK so i will suck even more than usual haha

You can't miss me i'll be in the all black avalaan ninja suit riding ar5's or motherships.

that sucks, what'd you do? I've been out for the past two weeks too, damn mcl's, cause nothing but problems. Anyways, i'll be the girl on this years 4frnt msp's (170), black jacket and cream colored pants.

Can't miss a shady english accent anywhere, yeah i arrive tomorrow can't wait, any decent pubs to get drunk in on a friday?

pubs.... the fernie, the northern, the pub, eshwigs....

fernie is pretty sweet. ill be up on the weekends. white pants/black "camo" jacket, last years msp 170's. black helmet, green a frames. my pants have paint all over the front. holler if you see me.

shitty that you busted your collarbone though mac. I want to session the park with you sometime.

Righto been here almost 2 weeks now, such a sick resort, apart from the aussie abuse, haha i have been out every night but not checked the northern, im out riding like everyday, i have the black white check anon goggles, and black avalaan suit. probaly falling over a lot.

I will check out the northern tonight.

I'm here til mid april, im sure i met you the other night but i was absolutely hammered and i dont really remember much.

I cannot find any info on the park at Fernie. What kind of rails do they have, do they have a halfpipe? Gonna be there for Presidents week hope it'll be awesome.

rails = flat down, up rail, 2 c-rails, battleship, some small rails. Sick tables!! Try skiing the whole mountain coz it's fucking awesome!

I might be coming up for spring break. I will also repeat that Fernie did an amazing job on the Heavy Metal rail jam earlier this year, and if the hits are anything like that now then you should be there.

Hey cab-d, why do you lie and say your kickers are 30-40 and 50 footers and in reality they are much smaller, like maybe 15-20 footers. A little andice would be to step back the xl jump considerably so you don't land on the flats. Good park but small jumps!!!!!

I'm local!

i'll get out a measuring tape just for you so you know exactly how big they are. I was told those lengths by our park groomer.

Hey cab, just so were on the same page your saying that the first kicker is a 30 foot table? Maybe 30 from the top of the jump to the bottom of the landing transition. My old park had 40/50 and 60 foot tables and they were atleast twice the size. Maybe your groomer buddy needs to learn some math skills. Measure from the top of the jump to the top of the tranny!

i think he measures it from lip to knuckle. but looking at it today that didn't really look like 10m's.

anyway, what gear do you wear? if i see you there i'll say hello.

i was up there saturday and sunday and it was siiick! fernie is a really fun mountain and the snow was good, except why is the park in such an inconvienient spot? I mean the topography was nice, but it takes like 1/2 hour to get to it.

I'll be up there skiing friday saturday and sunday. I'll have my camera up there too so if anyone is up for getting some shots let me know, I'd be more than happy to get some pictures.

Cab, I wear a green cammo coat, grey pants and red twintips. If you see me say hey and well go check out the kickers.

I was up there today in the morning, was a little crusty.

Wasn't trying to bash the park just want accurate measurements.
