Fernie Big Air

it was on the monage. Pretty sick day the skiers were stomping their shit way more than the boarders. Good turn out too, trick of the day, perfect rodeo 5 with a truck driver. Some sick moves put down by Robbie too. All in all good times.
 
I saw Tanner Hall there, i dont know if he was in the comp, but he was skiing there. I thought that the competition was pretty like unorganized. The announcer was like commenting on the skiiers helmets and shit.
 
Yeah i saw tanner, skogan and evan the night before in downtown, but they were with island lake heli skiing they said.
 
So I'm coming up from Montana on Saturday (14th or 15th whichever day it is) What's the park setup like? Will I still be able to have enough air to throw some shit down? Is the snow still good? Any help would be rad.
 
So the park looked sick, but was weak. New snow, and nothing was opened. All the rails and stuff were X'ed off. All of it could of been opened if someone were to just grab a shovel. I wasn't impressed. So we just skiied the bowls and did the little pond skim at the base.
 
dude, you'll be lucky if the park even gets groomed. our cat driver is over it and hardly grooms it. anyway were going to be taking off all the wood from under the rails tommorow. and taking out the rails on tuesday. Should've come earlier. but anyway there was pow, why were you in the park?
 
We only did two runs through. I figured as much, our park at Big Mountain (MT) is pretty much the same when our mtn is open. Our cat drivers don't work with us at all. They dropped 1/2 a mil on a new pipe, and groomed it two times. So I understand that, and I didn't know about the rail thing. We would of come sooner, but I was filming in western BC (whistler) most of the season. We skiied pow though, the bowls were sick, untracked. Again, i was stoked on the pond skim too.
 
but gawed how good was fernie on saturday and sunday?? little skiff of snow on top of that spring mush...perfect stomping weather! Had one of the most fun days of the season.
 
On my last day in fernie tried a switch pond skim next to the timber, death would be an appropriate word.
