Feelin like shit

every year this happens. whenever a season ends, i feel so awful. skiing gives me something to look forward to while im sitting in school or at work. because the season is so short here in ohio, i get incredibly jealous when people are still putting out sick vids of them skiing in may. I need something to turn to after the season ends. i feel like shit just doing nothing after i have to put the sticks away for the year. i can skate (not very well), but that just doesnt do it for me. any tips? im desperate lol

definitely hitting hard, it was my last season at my home mountain before college. my buddys got a lil summer set up and its fun, but something about having turf under my feet instwad if snow kinda sucks

Got to find something more that you find fun and fulfilling. Look for a summer gig that sounds fun and unique, pick up a new hobby, join rec league softball, something. There is so much more to life than skiing. You'll eventually find the changing of seasons exciting as that means you can get going on the other thing(s) that get you excited.

I don't get it. There is more to life than skiing?

Build a backyard turf rail setup, go session a rail with snow from a hockey rink, try taking up mountain biking etc

buy a mountainbike. youll love it. if you can find one that is.

Not to be a dick but move the fuck out of ohio, isn't it just like... grass? Living in a flat place like that is so depressing, it's just field. And when the field ends there's a wall of trees and nothing in the horizon. Makes me depressed just thinking about it, save yourself before it's too late.

you got quarries in ohio? jump in

Not sure of the drive from Ohio but now that covid restrictions are getting a tiny bit more relaxed try to go to big snow in New Jersey a couple times. It’s a haul but it’s super fun and definitely worth it to ski in the summer without throwing big bucks to go to hood

This is actually a legitimate thought. I’m lucky enough to live at the bottom of a 3000ft PA mountain range. Closer to Pittsburgh you can’t even see the mountains, and it’s just flat. Seems depressing, I’ve always thought about that since a young age.

firm believer in the fact that living with a mountain in view makes your life significantly better. If I had to live somewhere flat I would honestly be way less happier and go crazy at some point.

There’s moments every day when I will just sit there and stare at the beautiful view for minutes without saying a word, just soaking it in.

When ski season ends that’s when I start looking for a gf, then I break up with her on fdoh. If she can’t keep up she isn’t worth it

I still feel this way at the end of every season. Usually fall into a bit of depression, and being sick at home all week doesn't help that stuff. Sometimes you just have to let shit out, ski related or otherwise. Put on some sadboy music and cry if you need to, it makes you human, not weak.
