Me either so i had to buy them but now i kinda need money so i'm seeing if its worth trying to sell them heres what the guy who i bought them from said

These bindings are new, in box, never been mounted or used.
The Line Reactor 12 alpine ski binding is the most innovative binding design of the past decade. Inspired by the awkward twisting falls commonly suffered in the park and pipe, the Reactors release laterally from either the toe or heel. These are line's attempt to incorporated snowboard type binding technology (screw to the ski) in a ski binding. Like 05/06. They didn't really catch on very well. I think they only work on line skis pre-06.
 
i heard they are on the bit heavy side. i have a pair of invaders that have the holes pre-drilled for these
 
Haha...same.

In short, they were an awesome idea, but the execution left a lot to be desired.

They were heavy and broke a lot, plus you could only use them on LINE skis with the holes, or you could mount something called a "Freedom Plate" on other skis, and use them that way.

Personally, I wouldn't ride them as they've proven they were not a reliable binding, and even LINE abandoned the idea after (I think) one season.

I'd love to see the snowboard binding idea come back, but R&D would have to be stepped up.

Footnotes:

Not a good binding to ride, but an awesome piece of history to have around...if I had a set I'd hang them on my wall, preferably on the original Prophet 130s that had the holes for them.

You'd have the first REALLY fat ski, and the binding that went with it for memorabilia.
 
if only they didn't brake... i used to love my pair.

these actually would be a good buy for someone who owns 2 pairs of unmounted 05/06 - 06/07 line skis with mounting holes. you'd be able to move your bindings from ski to ski... but sooner or later they will self destruct.
 
This guy is right on, they are the best bindings they were so far ahead of their time, they are just too heavy. its nearly impossible to hurt your knee in these but eventually for some reason they just quit working. you should really try ebay for these babies they may get a better responce there, here they are just pretty much wall hangers
 
i have some 05 prophet that i would love to put these on..... as it turns out i cannot afford it

Bullshit. That's a photoshop job. Line never made bindings. I don't know what you're all talking about.

... honestly, though, the binding was a great concept that I hope someone brings back at some point, it just never got to a point where the durability was good enough for the market... even light people could snap them randomly. I'll give you 50 + shipping for them just to own a piece of skiing history though.

Of course, the Pivogy was the REAL throwback.
 
I, for one, actually owned and skied these for a year and a half. They were very adjustable and they were really a great concept for skiing. I would still be using them if they werent as heavy as they are...and if LINE kept the 4 bolt pattern...

Free bump for some good binders.
 
i skied mine for a season and then the toe piece ripped off the ski landing a 270 off a box.... they work great until the break haha
 
Pivogy.... word.

six pack mounting patterns were a sick idea for their bigger fatter skis too (prophets & lizzies). imagine having two mounting positions on a pair of skis, one closer to center and the other further back for those deep pow days.
 
These obviously have a different half life than the ones that hit the market a few years back. OG prototypes possibly?
 
You wouldnt happen to be the guy who just picked them up off ebay for $50ish? Well if you're gonna try and flip em for more here good luck, i considered it even just to have a piece of history and so also when Line reissues them I can say I told you so but I dont have that kind of money to throw down right now. Anyways, anyone remember when Line came out with the Transfer boot? hehe now those are even more rare than these things.

no i bought these locally but now i'm just looking to see if any has had these and doesnt use them and still has the plate to mount them on to other skis cuz i'm thinking i want to keep tem now but i'm not sure if i can just mount into the ski or not
 
I remember those, didn't think i would see a pair surface on NS again. The part about how they were a great concept but too heavy and broke randomly has already been said.
 
i owned a pair of these, and i thought they were neat as fuck, until they shit the bed after like the first season. they pivoted themselves to death, pivoted once hard, and they never pivoted back, even with assistance from a rubber mallet. i had them on the first invaders. i also remember riding the transfer boot when i bought my old school 1260s, they had buckles like rollerblades, quite innovative. this thread is mad nostalgic. anyone remember the proposed reactors that were camo colored? i don't think they ever came to fruition.
 
sorry bud you'd have to pay someone to take these off your hands. I bought these brand new when they first came out and Line stopped making them for a reason

1.) they're roughly 3lbs EACH

2.) they put you higher up on the ski than using lifters

3.) if you don't have the Line plate to mount these onto a non Line ski or a line ski that already has inserts than you won't be able to mount them

4.) THEY STRAIGHT UP FALL APART.

They had a good concept going with the pivoting heel and what not but the design was terrible. Also, do you even have the brakes for them?

searchbar these things. and look at my pics. You'll notice I don't have the brakes for mine since the locking srew in the back decided to randomly unlock one day and my brake came off and then i crashed and was on a 1hr ski hunt afterwards down the hill to find my runaway Line chronics.
