Federer vs. nadal (for all you tennis players)

what do you guys think about them. you are either a federer fan, or a nadal fan. i am a hardcore nadal fan. i worship this man. i have the same game as him too which is tight. heavy fuckin topspin. anyways, federer cant get any better. hes at the peak of his game. nadal on the other hand is only 19, and is still improving. i didnt think he would make it past the 2nd round and wimbledon, and then hes in the finals!! your thoughts.
 
You don't think Fed can get any better? He turned himself into the second best claycourter in the world in the past year. You don't think he can get better? Federer will win a French Open. I'm not saying Nadal can't get better either, because he has shown this clearly (Wimbledon), but to say Fed can't get better is stupid.
 
yeah i use the same racquet too. but federer is like 22 right now. thats like the peak age. take agassi for example. that is when he was in his prime. im not saying that federer will get worse or anything like that. nadal will bececome number one over federer. it will happen
 
federer is the man, way better dominant on all courts compared to nadal who is dominant on clay, but not as good on the other surfaces. nadals game isnt heavy top spin, he might hit with heavy top spin, but thats not how you play your own game. he plays ground strokes and uses speed to his advantage. thats his game
 
yea its all about federer. hes mastered every type of surface and made it to the finals in clay where he gave nadal a very good match. hes got a better record than nadal, and nadals only beaten fed on clay. nadal is yea the best at clay, but he much on grass. overall federer is better than nadal
 
I think Fed is the better player, but someone said Fed on all surfaces other than clay...Nadal beat Fed in Dubai earlier this year on hardcourts.

Someone said agassi was in his prime in his early 20s.....I'm not sure if you know, but Agassi got to #1 in the world again a few years ago - 2003 I think...he was around 30 then.
 
federer is so much better, nadal ruins the tradition in tennis and wears those gay capri pants, federer also has a much better attitude and i hope to see him win the french next year against nadal
 
whats wrong with the clam diggers? i think they are unique. but cool. at a tournament i played, a kid had them and they are actually pretty cool.
 
i dont know why you brough this back. but since you did, Federer is going to dominate for years to come. the problem with Nadal's game is that as soon as he looses his strength his game will crumble because of the heavy topspin.
 
Federer, in my opinion, is the best player to ever play the game. He simply dominates on everything. Nadal will eventually be up there too, since he's only 19, but his style of play is so much more erratic than Federer's. He'll age in the tennis world really quickly since he relies a lot on the speed of his shot, although he is really really good in general too. I guess you gotta be good to be able to beat Federer. I don't think he'll ever overtake Federer in the rankings though before he retires.
 
Federer is better at tennis than anyone has ever been at any sport in the history of sports. Yeah. He's that good.
 
i do believe that federer will dominate on all surfaces(except clay, on which he will partially dominate)

however, i think nadal is his match, even thouhg federer will always have a teeny bit more skill, but less determination

so yeah, any1else want in on the skiing/tennis cult?
 
Yup. he is ridiclous.

I like them both just because they are so much fun to watch play. I am more of a Federer fan though.
 
Those capris...they just...argh, if it wasn't for them I'd be a Nadal fan, but I really hate those ugly ass pants he wears. Random tennis fact, I used to play at the club in France where Yannick Noah played as a teen (he won the french open and all).
 
Nadal all the way, still the underdog to Federer, but Rafael is awesome and getting better. 

Plus I dig Nadal's metrosexual style, this guy exudes sex like Justin Timberlake.
 
nadal is hotter so i would have to go with him. federer though is the best in the world and will be for a while. he makes the game look so easy.
 
debatable. really the only other person on his level at any sport is tiger... there are too many factors to claim one is more dominant than the other etc. federer is definatly the best athleticly though. he is unreal.
 
Yep, Tiger is #2. But I still fully believe that Federer is better at tennis than Tiger is at golf.
 
my views have changed after making this thread so long ago. federer can still get better i was probably high. after watching him this summer it made me realize he is probably the greatest ATHLETE of our time. not just the greatest tennis play. but nadal is still sick. so is djokovic.
 
there is no way you can say that federer has less determination. he may not show it but the guy is as determined and focused as anyone. more so actually. he made a comment recently that he can invision himself being at the top for the next ten years. i believe it. he has the skills and the work ethic to make that happen.
 
Fed is the best on regular courts. Fed also works hard and will probably win the French Open next year because last yr he worked up to be the second in the world for clay courts...
 
FEDERER is who i prefer

Nadal is a girl! he fricken screaches like all the women do when he plays, i cant stand listening for that for a couple hours
 
they are equal. federer is as good at his sport as tiger is at his. but you have to remember that federer is playing against another person, and tiger is playing against a golf course.
 
i love both federer and nadal

but i am sad to see federer lose at wimbledon cause it probably means he might be near the end of his career like sampras.

either way that final was fucking unbelievable and sure to go down in history, i feel sorry for anybody who missed it

 
federers got another 5-10 years of domination but nadal will be right up there with him. federer lost today because he wasnt as ready and motivated to win as nadal was.
 
roger has had an off year by his standards, he's still the more dominate player IMO, though nadal is still improving and diversifying his game. i have no doubt that roger will be in the US Open final. Nadal should definitely be the other, but he doesn't have the same consistency yet away from the clay, so people think they have a chance...
 
Once Nadal can improve his hard court surfaces play he will be able to surpass Federer. He is undefeated in the french open on clay because that's pretty much what he grew up playing on. But lately he has been improving his game on different surfaces. He's 22 and he's still learning but I predict 2 years from now he will be #1 and at the top of his game. Winning Wimbledon just shows how hungry he is to win other tournaments and how bad he wants to improve. He has worked hard and I feel the win at wimbledon shows how hard he has worked and will continue to until he is #1. And even then he will still be able to improve and hopefully win a variety of tournaments on a variety of surfaces.
 
I am more of a Federer fan... I play a similar game to him...

It was sad to see him lose at Wimbledon... but that was probably one of the best tennis matches i have ever seen

 
I've always been a huge Arod fan. He's skilled and his serve is beast. But he just doesn't have the all the necessary components to dominate. Fed is the shit hands down. He might seriously be the best tennis player ever. Rarely ever does an athlete dominate their sport like he does.

 
ya Roddick is pretty sick, especially now that Jimmy Connors is his coach he is improving quite a bit...
 
yah nadal, that was the best match ive ever watched hands down. i was super stoked to see nadal come away with the victory, although federer is one of my favorites after roddick and nadal.
 
its not that i dont like federer, but i prefer nadal right now. hes so much more fierce and determined, and is truly a skilled player in all aspects. federer is good as well, but doesnt have that edge that nadal has, and i think federer has reached his peak. its funny how nadal picks his ass before every serve though
