FD Virtika Girl Ads

so i guess you putt from the rough.

I think the girls face looks like Lesh and I cam here to complain that the girl isnt hot enough. keep it comin!

As I'm reading this my parents keep walking in and I have to scroll down quickly and not get to look at what I want to!

WTF is wrong with you people. You fucking drool over pictures like this in the threads, but when there is the same thing at the top of the you complain just because it is an ad for first drop. Most of you complaining have probably contributed or looked at the hot girls thread, slutty facebook profile pics thread or any others like them.

If any of your parents are naive enough to think you don't look at worse things than this on the internet the need to be slapped across the face to wake them the fuck up. It's an ad on a website and you can't deicide if it shows up or not. DEAL WITH IT

Your employer will fire you just because you're not doing your job... not because of the TYPE of website you're visiting instead of doing your job.

NSFW is irrelevant.

Anyone who feels that these FD Wear ads make newschoolers not a place they want to be, totally simple solution - www.epicski.com - its where your parents are hanging out on the internet... so instead of going to the 'dark side' just go join 'em and talk about perfecting your turns!

I really, really love the fact that you take part and voice your honest opinions, but sometimes I just sense this weird, pathological anger, maybe towards the haters of FD mostly, concerning your opinions about Last Friday, the Apology and now these ads.

Just straight blurting out that people should be fired for browsing your site in the first place is very off. A lot of our jobs cause us to sit in cubicles or at desks, surfing the web for both information and data as per our duties, but many of us also work jobs that do not respect a strict schedule. It's more like "you do your work so it's done, otherwise you're on your own" type of deal. This, especially, draws the line between Safe For Work and Not Safe For Work. You might have finished analyzing a shitload of data and searching for recommendations on an app plan, while simultaneously having NS open, checking in from time to time. The time it takes to reload NS forums and check a few threads can be less than 5 secs to max a few minutes, without degrading one's job description. A lot of us, drones or not, don't even feel the need to take any literal breaks as we can unload on the computer while doing our jobs.

It's a minor distraction in most cases, but I don't know how to feel about your defensiveness in this case. Smart people don't click on "Sarah Underwood Appreciation" threads while at work, but hell, just a few weeks back I was on break and checking some guy's feedback and there were tens of anal fisting gifs embedded in there, just as my co-worker walked in. Wasn't nice.

Do with this site what you will, but take in hand that a lot of NSers have jobs that able them to browse a bit during the day, during school, during breaks... The big difference is that what to you is a simple change of homepage to Epicski, is not the same to many of us.

First off, I would like to get extremely clear that it is not specifically FD Wear that causes my pathological anger. It is simply them that stir up the reaction on certain issues from a small portion of the community.

That specific reaction to certain issues is what causes my Pathological anger - and you're right to call it pathological... because it is a very deep level of rage.

Now, I will say that you're correct - I did not take into account relaxed-schedule jobs. So correct, if you're allowed to just browse FB or NS at work, then that is great.

I however, still stay steadfast that it is crazy that a simple ad with zero nudity is something that will get you in trouble at work. I also stay extremely steadfast that I do not want Newschoolers to turn into a police state, which is what people are requesting when they state that ads / posts with scantily clad women must go.

So the issue that is my 'pathological hate' is caused from the fact that people are taking things so seriously. I was an original Newschool skier... back when Freeze Magazine was around. The idea of being free was everything... and breaking out of the status quo which had made skiing so boring. Racing and classic freestyle had clamped down on everything fun, and sought nothing but popular buttoned-up acceptance. Skiing as a whole had turned into something that wasn't super fun to be a part of.

That is why snowboarding got so popular all of a sudden. It tapped into that rebellious streak, and went out on its own. I thought that was great, but didn't want to snowboard. When Newschool skiing (or freeskiing or whatever you want to call it) came around, it was the perfect answer. It was something that allowed us to express ourselves however we wish, and didn't conform to one specific set of rules.

So to me, when someone says "No scantily clad women!!!!" its simply the start of a slow slide back to the way that buttoned-up racing and classic freestyle went. Believe me, if you're in your teens / early 20s and don't remember this, it sucked.

If we ban something like this, there's a huge amount of other activities that the logical path would follow to start really deeply policing on. We'd need to increase the moderation staff, and start really becoming a gestapo-style site.

For those who can't browse NS at work because there is a chick who is completely by all laws in North america - fully clothed... I am sorry but from the very top we will not bend the freedom of members to this point. I do not want Newschoolers to go in this direction, and if all of you do - then I will retire my post here and find alternate employment.

I stand on this issue firmly. I also do not believe for one second that it is the majority that thinks this way, it is simply a few people who are looking for issues to cause drama around.

We must have moderation, because without it comes complete chaos and stupidity. However, I refuse to take this too far down the path that its going on, and would prefer to back off rather than clamp down further. I want to go in the other direction, and make the sport more about the freedom of expression that it is supposed to be about.

It is up to us as a community to keep skiing from going back to the way it was in the mid '90s. We are the future, and we will be the parents of tomorrow's youth.

Do you want to turn into a parent or an employer that would ground or fire someone because they had covered-up females on their screen?

I'll just quote the top paragraph to keep this short.

I myself got into freeskiing not because of rebelliousness, but because I thought it was fun. It was 2002, so maybe the whole "is skiing cool or for f*ggots" trend had already simmered down a bit. Does semi-nudity on a website dedicated to this sport/hobby/lifestyle ruin the fun involved? Fuck no.

It's your site, you are willed to do whatever you will with it and we who browse it are entirely dependent on our own judgement as to when and where to do so. So you have no "need" to answer to a request like this thread has pulled up, it is just in your own interest to look through the bullshit and see what is viable and what is not soviable, I think.

Was it Rowen or another mod years ago, when the Hot Girl thread emerged who said: "If there's a nipple, delete it. If not, let it be." I still stand by that as a guideline to nudity on NS. If you're at work and have the possibility to browse NS, don't go to nudie threads. I voiced my opinion to another member about this nudity issue being a thing of the USA side of this site, which is enormous, for sure, but I simply don't understand parents who would get upset if their child was browsing a website of their chosen hobby and there happens to be an ad of a bkini girl. What does that change in the big scheme of things when it comes to billboards and TV, Victoria's Secret, the Swimsuit Issue of Sports Illustrated? How come these are basically accepted but then a little ad would be scrutinized, by parents? There's something wrong in that whole thing in my mind.

But thanks anyway for acknowledging the whole pathological thing, haha. Wasn't meant as an insult, just an observation.

Yeah but what WOULD ruin the fun is if we decided that semi-nudity was not allowed under any circumstances, and that we would judge a company for wishing to express themselves this way.

Its just like how people used to hate on Aerials, because they used FORM. Form is scoring people on how much their body positioning is exactly like everyone else. You scored well for this. That completely destroys the idea of Style, which is what we do is based on. Style is about expressing yourself, and your own individuality through the way that you ski.

Freeskiing / Newschool skiing is all about that. Its all about expressing yourself through sport, and when you have the freedom to express yourself however you want - not everyone will agree with you.

Of course we have to keep things within legal limits, and racial/sexist/sexual preference type hate and bullying isn't good... but other than that we should be pretty fucking free to do what we wish.

Censorship is a slippery slope, and its one we don't want to walk the wrong way down. I'm always super conscious of what people are telling me about if they feel we've gone too far - and I do everything to constantly re-evaluate whether we're turning into a police state.

Note finally that I will always listen to the community of Newschoolers. Always. What I don't listen to is when I can detect a 'vocal minority' - which is a couple of people with a radical opinion who just talk loudly and nobody wants to bother fighting them. I get all manners of messages from every direction on issues, and this happens all the time - and especially when it is a time of the year where nobody is skiing.

Of course, though I will listen I also have a voice. I will speak and I will speak loudly when I feel it is necessary. I am entitled to an opinion just like everyone else, and by no means do I force my opinion on others. I always am willing to debate, always willing to change my ways, and always willing to give your ideas the benefit of the doubt. I don't go quitely, just like hardly anyone else on here does.

In the end, we all shape this place together. We just need to make sure that we shape it in a way that keeps what we're doing fun, free and open-minded.

I really don't if I have anything else to add to that I didn't agree with. Like I've said, this is a forum that differs from so, so many Internet forums and honestly the only one I actually speak up on, and want to contribute, if you've seen the few interviews I've done for NS, I don't see many sites giving so many freedoms to their members to do in-depth and even sponsorship-questioning interviews with renowned members or porfessional athletes, without censorship (except for maybe Schmuck's small hand in corrections).

That's why I'm here, even though I have't really enjoyed skiing for over three years. Sure, I went skiing this season for a few times but the old feel was gone. But I'm here, experiencing, realizing, seeing, hearing and knowing.

So please, keep NS as much as the "same" you can while improving it, but know that a large membership of the older members is also either leaving or getting acquainted to how the system is working now, and while many of them are a vocal minority, they are still here and respect NS as what it is - the best fucking site on the Internet for a skiing community, no fucking doubt. So addressing all issues, in queue or not, gives at least me both pride and respect for how this site is run in the end.

You are over-thinking this "fun" way too much. Skiing has always been, and always will fun. I've noticed that anytime NS wants to get rid of something questionable, you get all up in arms claiming that we are destroying the freedom, fun, and "rebellious nature" of freeskiing. You seem to think that you and NS in general have a very important role in protecting the fun and freedom of freeskiing, as if any internet site could change those things. Chill out, skiing isn't any less fun simply b/c some people don't like a stupid ad on a skiing forum someplace on the interwebz. Getting rid of the ad will not ruin anyone's skiing fun, or make skiing any less cool.

That's my 2 cents anyway.

Its a balance that I think we're good at maintaining. I just think we need to be careful about not swinging too far in either direction.

I think you're under-estimating the power of media. NS is massive, and a great deal of influence happens here over an entire generation of skiers.

Remember, last year NS peaked at 753,000 individual people passing by once or more in a month. That means we could have filled Yankee Stadium 15 times with new, unique people.

Fifteen times. Imagine how many people that is?

Skiing is fun, and we are all skiers. I don't think everyone is destroying the fun, or the rebellious nature of action sports - I just think there are a few people that are trying to be far, far, far too serious. It isn't the '90s where we can pretend the interwebz aren't real people. We are, and the internet is a massive influence over the way people feel about issues, and get their information. Saying that NS has nothing to do with real life would be like saying that Facebook hasn't altered the landscape of social interaction.

talking of beaches, all you prudes should book a flight to ibiza/formentera and cruise around on the beaches, like 80% of all chicks is 7/10 or higher (other 20% = solid 7) and 50% is either topless or buttnaked....

only downside are the guido dudes in speedos ....(unless ofcourse you're into stuff like that ....)

Aren't there lots of nude beaches in Europe?

As a matter of fact, isn't there plenty of full-on nudity in publicly displayed ads in various european countries?

http://youlookfab.com/2010/04/09/nudity-and-sexuality-in-european-advertising/

^^I mean some of the stuff in there by North American rules we couldn't even post it on NS without getting banned from Google Advertising... though in Milan its part of the ads?

I'd love to even go so far as to say that we here in North America are so overly conservative with our views towards sexuality and nudity that it disgusts me. I mean you can watch daytime television with violent torture and murder with blood and gore everywhere... but ONE breast and JESUS CHRIST DIDN'T ANYONE THINK ABOUT THE CHILDREN?

I'd way rather my kid sees hardcore porn than terrible torture and murder. I mean one is people consenting to sex the other is people killing each other.

If that aint some fucked up logic I don't know what is.

^^sure there are nude beaches, just not everywhere, i just did a trip to ibiza (formentera actually) and was amazed how accepting people were of nudity over there (even for european standards)ie. there were people playing jeu de boules (folk game) nude in the village square, public beaches were 50% nude, hell even while some friends and myself were cliffjumping we suddenly get accompanied by 2 naked chicks asking from where they best jumped ...

even to my personal standards, this was rustling my jimmies .... :/

and as far as euro advertising goes, sure i think a lot more goes, especially when compared to the US but still it's rare to see nipples, dick or vagina in ads, altough it does happen ...

it's not like we don't give a shit about what goes in the media, i'd say we're just less prude about stuff like that ....

which also has it's downsides, ie. yesterday i was watching TV with my mom when an ad comes up for, i think it was a new womens perfume, and theres this naked chick in a bathttub, long story short my mom asked me if i thought her tits were fake .... pretty awkward if you ask me ...

See, I don't know if I call that a downside. I mean that to me just sounds like a cooler society.

Dude, this is how fucking crazy we are here in North America.

Ever heard of nipplegate? Where Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake were performing at the superbowl, and at the end JT rips a piece of Janet's costume, revealing her breast with nipple covered?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Bowl_XXXVIII_halftime_show_controversy

Read that shit. If you haven't heard of this it just might blow your european mind. You're sitting there watching a TV commercial for perfume with your mom, when some naked chick jumps on the screen and you have a rational conversation about real vs. fake breasts.

In america, even a slightly uncovered breast levies what probably cost millions of dollars in legal fees, and protests everywhere from 'please save the children' type people.

For a fucking breast with a covered nipple. I mean jesus christ - if that isn't absolutely insane I don't know what is.

Then right smack dab in the middle of primetime, for all the kids to gleefully watch - http://youtu.be/NVImV2bpBEg

THat is only CSI. A compilation of violent shoot-outs where there's innocent people getting shot, bank robberys, bad guys dying, cops using their guns completely irresponsibly....

But NO BREASTS... so its totally fine for kids.

I mean is it just me or does this seem like lunacy?

Yeah yeah, we all know about the hulabaloo of Janet's covered nip. It doesn't exactly mean that the more free mindset of many European nations (not easy to classify as European, really... by doing this you are mostly referring to the mainland Europe axis of Germany-France-Holland-fewsmallercrazycountriesyo).

Just meaning that as much as we can't group the US states or Canadian provinces as one often in arguments, even less does it stand for "Europe" to be "European". Really. So many countries with war, hatred, love w.e. that "we" can't be as easily quantified as North America.

But yeah, if you ever see a Finnish movie that hasn't got a swinging dick or boobs in it (15+) I owe you 10 bucks (of your choosing).

I'm fine with mostly naked chicks if that's what you want to do.

Just not her. 4/10 would not.

then i suggest you put on your beer goggles, you'll immediately see she's a solid seven !def. would bang !

hahaha this is hilarious! I was very surprised to see the first handful of posts in this thread agreeing with the OP.....i noticed that ad the other day and studied it for a minute, but didn't think twice about it

I'm with him.

Those are some nice tits.

But can we get a new face? Like...photoshop someone else's face on there?

ON3P advertises half-naked girls on their skis. I don't see anyone complaining.

Seriously, quit being fanboys and also grow up. I've seen way worse things on TV...

The new girls are awesome. Girls in ads are awesome, why would anyone get in trouble becouse of that? It's not like its donkey porn.

I'm looking at worse things on the street outside my office.

Hell, I've seen sluttier getups almost every day in high school.

Chairlifts are now NSFW!

The new FD ad girls are much more attractive, or maybe just better photos. Kudos!

Preach. If this post wasn't so true and relevant I'd say get adblocker for chrome and your problems would be solved, bu when it comes down to it you just need to sack up and see some tits every once and a while.

Sack up and see some tits... there is DEFINITELY something wrong with the youth of today.

I can't believe a phrase like that even needs to be uttered.

LIke... ZOMG! BREASTS!!! PLEASE GOD NO PROTECT MY EYES!!!!

"Dude, just suck it up. I don't want to look at them either, but sometimes you just gotta sack up and deal with boobs. It'll be over soon"
