FCP7 Question

HEy newschoolers this maybe a really dumb question but I am wondering when I film with my t2i why I am getting these black lines at the top and bottom of the canvas?http://www.flickr.com/photos/64110302@N08/6379999471/in/photostream

Here i have highlighted the areas in this picture. Just wondering how I get them away. Because when I film with my gopro and can hfm30 they are not there.

It means your sequence settings aren't correct. Open a new sequence and then drag a clip into that sequence. FCP will ask if you want to set the sequence settings to match the clip. Click yes and boom bomb youre good to go, just make sure to put the clip in before anything even music.
 
You're not setting up your sequence or whatever it is in FCP correctly I think. It's called letterboxing i think.
 
this.. and if your tryin to use two clips with different resolutions, like one in 720p and one in 1080p drop in the 720p first so that way those clips arent all blown up and pixelated when the settings are to match the 1080p
