I have heard that final cut pro or express will not run on a Macbook because they do not have a certain video card and this peice is non-upgradeable.  Can anybody varify this for me?

If this is true what do you suggest i do? Adobe? stick with iMovie until i have the cash to MBP or iMac

yeah it definitely works, but it just isnt super fast. though apple claims it doesnt, probably so they maintain their fast processing rep

so you guys have seen it work? i tried with a downloaded copy so maybe that was the problem.  ill try my freinds legit copy and see what happens

Final Cut Pro runs fine on my powerbook. Even the slowest Macbook is faster than my powerbook so you should be fine. The video card might be a problem but I kinda doubt it.

look, macbook haves diddly squat for a video card.  yes, it might work, but it will be shitty and use all of your memory.  THIS IS WHY THERE IS A MACBOOK PRO, FOR APPLE PRO APPLICATIONS like FINAL CUT PRO.  if you wanted to edit video on your laptop, you should have gotten a notebook computer designed for video editing.
