FCP Deinterlacing

Kinda a newb question but what it the best way to deinterlace in FCP ive tried a couple things but none have worked well??

just use the de-interlace filter.

There's not really a need to de-interlace in FCP. Export as a .mov and de-interlace in whatever your using to compress the video.

ya, you don't deinterlace until you're exporting. you can do it with compressor, or you can just export to quicktime> settings> dig around to find deinterlace.

have you done this ive been searching for it and i was unable to find the setting

jack when you go to export, go to settings, and then size. i think theres a little check box in there thats like de interlace source footage or something. check that box and it should do it. its the same in quicktime pro if youre exporting with that

sorry i meant using quicktime conversion, not quicktime

There's a need to de-interlace in FCP when you're using footage with bad fields or stills or titles.
