ya, you don't deinterlace until you're exporting. you can do it with compressor, or you can just export to quicktime> settings> dig around to find deinterlace.
jack when you go to export, go to settings, and then size. i think theres a little check box in there thats like de interlace source footage or something. check that box and it should do it. its the same in quicktime pro if youre exporting with that
