Only the government or people it's down with can sell drugs or guns. Make laws to limit gun ownership by American citizens, arm some random rebel force with shit tons of weapons.

The root of the problem is the human. People have getting fucked up on various things throughout history.

Drugs are ridiculously illegal right now yet people are still doing them. The more extreme the penalties the more profit to be made by selling them. With increased risk comes increased reward.

Even if you manage to get rid of all the drugs coming into the US, people will be getting high off paint, duster, or whatever else lying around. You manage to get rid of anything like that and people will still be getting high from self asphyxiation, jenk balloons or whatever the hell they can come up with.

People just don't get it. THE DRUG WAR IS A FAILURE. It's hasn't worked, and it's never going to work. It's a horribly failed policy that has done so much harm.

If you want to go after the REAL root of the problem start with the individual. If we put even some of the money we spend on the drug war into education and treatment programs we could actually do something positive.

Once again THE DRUG WAR DOESN'T WORK.Look at all the money they spend every year, all the people arrested, all the drugs confiscated. How much of a dent has that made? Everything is still pretty widely available and we've been throwing everything we have at it.

It's time to admit we dun goofed, end the fucking drug war, and make a REAL plan as to what we can do to fight addiction and other drug related problems.
 
Yah. This will be more dangerous than a lot of people realize.

Even as of now, most street sold "LSD" is just a research chemical such as 25c/25i. A lot of people buying acid don't really understand that RC's are significantly more dangerous.

Calling it now, there will be an increase in deaths now that real LSD-25 won't be distributed from SR.

Seen a lot of 25i around recently. It's very easy to distinguish it from pure cid if you have half a brain or $20 for a test kit. It tastes incredibly bitter and makes your tongue go numb. LSD won't do that.

The worst part is that those deaths will probably get blamed on cid.
 
yeah, because the CIA is not now, nor have they ever been involved in drug smuggling. they fund all of those black ops and support all of the different militant groups throughout the world by holding bake sales and selling girl scout cookies.

Theory: FBI is on to old DPR (Ulbricht) and new DPR pressed a form of a "kill switch" on the site until gov't traffic was not as hot--the site will be back up and running. Reasoning backing part of this statement: Why is there a Silk Road watermark on the "Seizure of Website" certificate?

This is exactly why I get SO MAD whenever I hear of someone calling NBOME acid.

It's oh so easy to overdose and die from 25X NBOME's when someone thinks what they are taking into their body is cid they could easily take enough 25X to kill themselves.

Personally I think that the internet drug market in general is like a hydra - cut one head off and two will grow back. A quick look at the Silk Road reddit already shows two alternative marketplaces that have popped up. They currently are offline, but how long until they're back up? How long until they are selling the quantity that was going through the silk road?

The DEA may think that they have toppled the online marketplace for drugs, and while that may be true temporarily, I highly doubt it will last.

All jokes aside, there are some extremely interesting things going on with this case. And it seems like its 100% DPRs fault he got himself arrested. Im surprised he let himself get so carried away.

 
Black Market Reloaded is still up currently (just checked), Atlantis shut down a few weeks ago until the heat is off. Shit like this will always be around and the drug war just inflates the problem.

Not entirely true, I follow marketwatch on facebook and they posted a status the other day that someone had created an investment fund based solely on Bitcoins. With investors in the bitcoin market it could actually explode

 
i dont know a lot about the deep web, but what would be the point in having bitcoins if you couldnt buy drugs anymore? Probly a stupid question but curious.
 
Buying a bunch of other sketchy ass stuff with currency that is kind of untraceable in a way. Who knows really?

Not at all.

Actually I'm surprised the btc only crashed to ~85 for a short period of time. They've been going strong every since then. One possible reason for this is people expected a similar giant like SR to come around again. There are already smaller ones like black market reloaded and sheep, but they've been said to be hit or miss.

Other than money laundering and buying illegal products, btc isn't really backed by anything else.
 
BTC is backed by the same thing your fiat money is backed by .. trust that you can spend it later for things of value.

Some people like it because it basically has built into itself a no inflation policy.

Granted, does the U.S. Gov now own a ton of Bitcoins from the SR takeover?

Litecoin prices might be fun to watch now though ...

I can't really see a reason why they would go up though? Just because SR went down, doesn't mean Litecoins would rise in price. All the other black-market websites still accept BTC.
 
I agree for the most part, I'll always take L over any other chem. If you know what you have and what you're doing with them they can be fun though. I personally enjoy 25i on occasion.

so it sounds like DPR has been indicted on two different murder for hire plots - one the blackmailer that basically reads like a scam or ploy by LE, and the other an employee which really was pulled off by and undercover officer.

While he might have been able to skirt the charges from running the website, there's no way he's getting out of these murder for hire plots. RIP DPR, you're done for.
