What are the ten best features to have in a terrain park?? What feature or features does ohio need to make the terrain parks better? Any and all input is greatly appreciated.

lets see, quad kink, 80 foot jump, a couple of 50 footers, coaster rail, dbl kinks, trap rails, multiple take offs......oh wait, thats all at marquette mtn!! Just move up here

I liked the spine we (snowtrails) had a long while back. I've always thought spines were fun too play on. I think that more rails would be nice.

ROLLER COASTER RAIL IS KEY! other than that....super technical rails that take people forever to get, that way you can never get bored on it. BIG JUMP, QUARTER, SPINE, just make sure everything is in a good like so you can hit jumps, rails, then maybe a quarter at the end

 
midwest jibber, you're gay. Nobody really cares about your park, if people from Ohio are going looking for a really sick to travel to, they're not going to go to Marquette. There are plenty of places that are just as close or the same price for the trip. And who would want to move to Marquette???

But anyway, the key for parks in Ohio is KEEPING THEM MAINTAINED!!! You could have the best rails or big tables, but if they aren't maintained, they get rutted out and shit. But, I think a really nice thing to have would be a nice dual take off table with wide lips and long landings. I like long landings!!

so there isnt a whole lota places you could go, and marquette is a pretty good place, plenty of people have moved here becuase of the skiing.

as for the features, make one up, build something new that no park already has, that would be a good way to make your park better

I think we'd rather see your favorite park features rather than bashing people. Even if your park is considered too be really good, great, you can have a cookie now lets figure out what our favorite terrain park features are.

they're good for everyone...switch and forward.

big table to bust dope clean stuff off (50+)

tech rails....ohio has enough flat rails under 30 feet.

marquette isnt all its cracked up to be, if the jumps had transition they could be alot better, if the landings where more than 15 feet long it could be even better, and if there park wasnt 25 feet wide it would be alot better

 
don't be hatin if you can't overshoot the landing like your use to. And yes Marquette is all it's cracked up to be, I'm sorry if it's too far for you to travel, but wait, its not.

I have a challange for you, if you can get up here for Superpark, ride the weekend, party with us and honestly said you had a shitty time, I will refund all your expenses, lift tickets, and events fees. SO quit your whining and come see why people move here, it ain't all for the parks, the College girls are 10 minutes form the hill and I must say, I'm had my fair share of groupie girls....'ooh whats's that you ski, I wanna fuck you'.......I know, I know, alright.

Marquette Mtn is why i chose this school. Hell, i chose it over MSU b/c of skiing.

Yes I 'totally' think boyne and spirit and crystal mtn and ski brule and riply and hyland all have beautiful landings that are mammoth sized! the truth is Marquette has the best landings in all the midwest, look at some of the videos on here and midwestskier.com, don't take out your frustration with midwest_jibber on marquette. He speaks only the truth anyhow. I am being sarcastic when I say I would rather ski anywhere else. plus you just made shelby cry

seems like marquette really doesnt have a good vibe. Seems everyone is more concerned about who is the best and who has what, rather than havin fun. From what i've heard, marquette is way blown out of proportion.

 
Holy shit have you got it all wrong! What makes Marquette good is the vibe here. We all go out every day and ski like crazy and have fun becuase skiing is fun. Talk to anyone from out of the area that has come to Marquette to ski. You will find that 9 out of 10 times they were greeted and invited to ski with our posse, because that is what its about, having fun and skiing. You couldn't have gotten it any more wrong.

I have met people on the internet a full year in advance of someone moving up here for school and I have introduced myself and invited them to ski with us as soon as the snow flys. An insult it is to here a bad comment about our vibe.

yea as many jibs and jumps in a row would be really sweet, would make for some mad flow.

on a side note... yes ben is correct, the michigan milita are some of the most humble people around, we even wear our MM t-shirts to proudly show that we are all friends

definately a quarter, a wallride, a pipe other than the dirt vert!! tech rails, c,s,roller, and like brody said with the jumps would be perfect. Keep progressing us, whoever you are, i know you have something to do with the trails park crew, so just progress ohio, the trails and our riders

i ski at tyrol, havent been to marquette but will be for superpark and what that guy says seems to be true, everyone ive ever known regardless of skill has came back from marquette and said ben and steve and crew (some of the better skiers in the midwest) have made them feel welcome as hell regardless of skill....ive even been told just from a phone call to the mountain hey stop in say hi we will take you out and ski, if you need somewhere to crash someone will hook u up....so im pumped....now everyone quit yackin and start waxin

 
WAX, dude if you come to the u.p., you have to use WD-40. they don't sell wax in marquette.

Boyne mountians park was about 200 feet long and 70 feet wide they had 13 billion jumps in it, and none of them were good, but there half pipe was good. I havent been to highlands during the regular season.

^^^the highlands during the regular season wasnt that great. all there rail were boxes and they had two tabletops
